Audrey Ross
Working with Audrey Ross, clients do not just
search for a house. They are borne into a vision
of a better, more harmonious lifestyle, where
people connect and things flow more smoothly
than ever before. That’s the aura that Audrey
Ross exudes, and it is inevitable that people feel
better just being around her. Clients, colleagues,
and staff all connect with Audrey Ross and stay
connected for life.
The Ross Report, Luxury Lifestyle Blog, and
Audrey’s Black Book are internet-available
vehicles for Ross to further communicate the
essence of luxurious living. But it has not been
Ross’s goal to achieve a top lifestyle; it is a
consequence of her deep interest in people finding
their passion. “People need to find new challenges,
something that you are truly passionate about and
do it to the best of your ability. Generally speaking,
the money will follow.”
With an average transaction price of more than
$5,000,000, it’s fair to say that the money follows
Ross’s efforts. She owns the record at Esslinger
Wooten Maxwell (EWM) REALTORS ® with a
one-week sales total of more than $63,000,000.
Ross has been named the Top Volume Producer
in Florida by the Wall Street Journal, and Best
American Real Estate Agent four times by
Mercedes Benz (UK) and International Homes
Magazine. She was the top broker at EWM for
most of the 2000 decade. Even so, she maintains
humility and perspective. “It is somewhat serendipitous
that you achieve success in any degree,”
she says. “Preparation meeting opportunity is
the key.”
Audrey Ross took a circuitous path into real
estate: she was an educator at all levels of public
EMW REALTORS ® , Miami, FL.
school, an educational consultant to the U.S.
Dept. of Education, a housewife, and a charitable
organization volunteer and fund-raiser. She
started in real estate as a way to challenge herself,
learn new things, and stay connected with people.
The day she got her real estate license in 1980,
she joined residential-focused Casey Cousins
Real Estate.
Cousins sold her firm in the early eighties to
Merrill Lynch, after which it became a much more
corporate environment. Audrey Ross left soon
thereafter to form Ross and Associates, Inc., a
boutique commercial real estate business in
downtown Miami. Though she worked toward the
Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM)
designation, Ross found that she really enjoyed
residential real estate and refocused her company.
Ross and Associates, Inc. experienced continued
growth through its sale in 2000 to EWM
REALTORS ® . Ross became an EWM shareholder
and continued to excel in the luxury residential
market. EWM REALTORS ® was bought by
Berkshire Hathaway in 2003, becoming part of its
Home Services Division. She continues to increase
her team’s size and reach, and is known as the
premier luxury real estate maven in South Florida.
It is difficult to overstate the magnitude of
Audrey Ross’s success. Her geographic focus is
South Florida, but she works with clients from
around the globe. She converses in a most downto-earth
manner, but her clientele includes a great
number of the world’s movers and shakers:
Fortune 500 company executives, celebrities in
film, entertainment, and sports, and heads of
state from many countries. Ross has worked with
several bosses, hundreds of associates, and
thousands of clients, but every story about them
includes names, family members, and what they
have done since the last time she saw them. Her
world is an impressive mixture of big picture
clarity with a stunning array of details. This
quality connection with many quality people is
clearly Audrey Ross’s definition of success.
Audrey Ross gives much credit to the people
around her who have supported and encouraged
her in all of her pursuits. Her husband, a civil
engineer who built and then sold a successful
business, is first on the list. Ross says, “I’ve been
blessed by all the brilliant people around me.” It
must be a two-way street, with most of her
colleagues and associates staying with her and her
firm for most of her career.
Even after many years of success in the real estate
business, Audrey Ross still finds new ways to
challenge herself and provide the ultimate lifestyle
experience to her clients. She oversaw the creation
of an iPhone app, Audrey Ross, which assists
people in searching residential real estate in South
Florida. Ross characterizes her real estate-centric
life as “an avocation that became a vocation that
became an obsession.” When advising aspiring
real estate professionals, she says, “Be careful; it
can be addicting.” As for the drive that it takes to
be a success, she states matter-of-factly, “You’re
only as good as your last sale.”
