GENERAL INFORMATION<br />
1. It is recommended that secondary<br />
school students include Calculus and<br />
one other Mathematics in their OAC/U<br />
level program. Students without OAC/U<br />
level Calculus are required to take an<br />
upgrading course before enrolling in<br />
the required first year Calculus course.<br />
2. Students with a grade of less than 60%<br />
in the OAC/4U Calculus are strongly<br />
advised to take MATH 1912 before<br />
proceeding to MATH 1036.<br />
3. When selecting courses, students<br />
should pay particular attention to the<br />
prerequisites for courses they may<br />
wish to take in later years.<br />
4. All upper year students must have their<br />
programs approved by the department<br />
prior to registration.<br />
5. Students wishing to concentrate in<br />
Computer Science will be allowed<br />
credit for MATH 1911/1912 as electives.<br />
6. Students registered in degree<br />
programs in Mathematics or Computer<br />
Science may not receive credit for any<br />
“Introductory Statistics” courses as<br />
listed in the general regulations for the<br />
B.A., except under such circumstances<br />
as may be approved by the Senate<br />
Committee on <strong>Academic</strong> Regulations<br />
and Petitions.<br />
7. The BCOSC degree requires that a<br />
student sample courses from across the<br />
curriculum by taking 18 credits,<br />
satisfying three of the following four<br />
conditions:<br />
• 6 credits from Humanities<br />
• 6 credits from Social Sciences<br />
• 6 credits from Sciences outside of<br />
Computer Science<br />
• 6 credits from Professional courses<br />
8. Students in the B.Sc. programs must<br />
include at least 12 credits from Humanities<br />
and/or Social Sciences and 6 credits<br />
from at least 2 different Science subject<br />
areas other than Computer Science or<br />
Mathematics.<br />
