Appendix 8 Electricity cost calculations 8.1 Cost analysis 20 MW solar PV system The size of 20 MW corresponds to the largest plants made in worldwide so far and represents of course a major investment, but very few risks as the technology is proven with a long record of results. A plant of this size will not only provide a measureable input to the grid, but also stimulate the market and can be part of a strategy to introduce local production and build up an export capacity in the area, on hardware as well as on know how. Further a plan of this size can play a major role as part of public awareness campaign as it will make renewable energy very visible.
