MISD to recognize diagnosticians - Mesquite ISD
BoardNotes A recap of the February 11, 2013 Mesquite ISD Board of Trustees Meeting MISD to recognize diagnosticians Educational Diagnosticians are certified teachers with additional training to assess students for special education services and coordinate the Individual Education Plan (IEP). They administer and interpret a variety of tests and recommend special education intervention when necessary. In addition, diagnosticians consult with professionals in other fields when speech, physcial, medical and emotional problems are indicated - all to the benefit of MISD students. To honor these individuals for the valuable role they play in public education, Governor Rick Perry declared March 4-8, 2013, as Educational Diagnosticians Week. To thank them for their contributions, the Board will send Certificates of Appreciation to the district’s diagnosticians that week. Apple Corps Inductees Two exemplary teachers were officially inducted into the prestigious Apple Corps: Molly Purl, Agnew Middle School American-history teacher with 13 years of experience, all in MISD; and Natalie Tucker, Mackey Elementary School second-grade teacher with 12 years of experience, all in MISD.
