ENGINE CRANKS, BUT WILL NOT START<br />

Continued from Test 5.10 (Part 1 of 4).<br />

Install fuel pressure gauge (Part No. HD-41182).<br />

See 5.15 FUEL PRESSURE TEST. While<br />

cranking engine (for more than 2 <strong>se</strong>conds to<br />

ensure proper system operation), verify that<br />

fuel pressure ri<strong>se</strong>s to 55-62 PSI (380-427 kPa).<br />

Adequate fuel pressure pre<strong>se</strong>nt?<br />

YES<br />

Check spark plug condition, replace if fouled.<br />

Reinstall spark plugs before <strong>check</strong>ing spark.<br />

Check spark at both plugs while cranking.<br />

Spark pre<strong>se</strong>nt?<br />

Incorrect pressure. See 5.15<br />

FUEL PRESSURE TEST.<br />

Verify connector is <strong>se</strong>curely attached<br />

to each injector. If so, disconnect fuel<br />

injector connector and attach fuel<br />

injector test lamp (HD-34730-2C).<br />

Terminal A (+) of coil connector<br />

[83B] using DVOM. Battery<br />

voltage pre<strong>se</strong>nt for 2 <strong>se</strong>conds<br />

Monitor IAC pintle for 10 <strong>se</strong>conds<br />

after turning ignition OFF. Does pintle<br />

extend and then retract during<br />

10 <strong>se</strong>cond key OFF<br />

Correct problems with<br />

fuel injectors. See 5.23<br />

DTC P0261, P0262,<br />

P0263, P0264.<br />

Go to Test 5.10<br />

(Part 3 of 4).<br />

Open in Y/GN wire<br />

between splice for fuel<br />

pump wire and ignition<br />

coil. Repair open<br />

Check for plugged fuel<br />
