Applicants cannot be receiving carding monies (BC or National) and include a letter giving their reason for applying for the bursary. $1,000 Must have attended Grade 12 at a Surrey Secondary School during the year of application, be qualified to enter the first year of a program leading to a Bachelor’s degree in the area of physical education or sports science and rank academically in the top quarter of students in his/her graduating class. Selected on the basis of leadership in and service to their school and/or the community, participation and achievement in student activities and athletics, academic achievement and promise and character and personal qualities. Candidates must be nominated by a Secondary School principal, who may nominate more than one candidate. MADD CANADA BURSARIES (5) $2,000 Supporting victims of impaired driving is one of the biggest priorities of MADD Canada. We offer up to five scholarships annually to victims of impaired driving. To be eligible for this scholarship candidates must: 1) be of Italian origin (ie. as having at least one parent of grandparent of direct Italian descent); 2) be living in a city or municipality within the 21-member Greater Vancouver Regional District; 3) have an academic standing sufficient to qualify for entry into the post-secondary institution of their choice; 4) submit a completed application form with supporting documentation. (2) $500 To be eligible, a candidate must have attended Grade 12 at a Secondary school in the districts represented by the FVSSAA during the year of application, be qualified to enter the first year of a program leading to a Bachelor’s degree in the area of physical education or sports science and rank academically in the top quarter of students in his/her graduating class. The student must have participated in one of the sports recognized by the FVSSAA or have provided support to one of these sports programs through coaching or in a support role.
