KMUTT Annual Research Abstracts 2005 IC-147 LEARNING HOW TO CONTROL LIFT WITH DIGITAL ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS BY MODULE KITS Chetta Charoensuk, Sumalee Chanchalor, Khanchai Tunlasakun The 19 th International Conference, “Learning Organization in a Learning World” (ICLORD 2005), April 18-22, 2005, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand, p. 918 The objectives of this research were to construct kits for Controlling Lift with Digital Electronic Circuits, to study the quality of kits and to compare students' outcome of learning with these kits. The Instruments used in this study included: (1) The Controlling Lift Kits with Digital Electronic Circuits including 5 lab sheets (2) achievement test (3) observation forms and (4) questionnaires for satisfaction. The sample was 30 students from the second year of diploma in technology of electricity from Chachengsao Technical College. They were tested before and after the experiment. The data was analyzed to find the efficiency of the kits by E 1 /E 2 . The score of pre and post test were compared by t-test to study the quality of these learning kits. The results showed that the efficiency of the Controlling Lift Kits with Digital Electronic Circuits was at 81/78.11. The students post test score was significantly higher than pre test score at level 0.01. Students who participated in this experiment performed well and were highly satisfied with learning from the kits. IC-148 THE APPLICATION OF VIRTUAL CLASSROOM THROUGH KMUTT LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: A CASE STUDY OF ETE 311 COURSE Kalayanee Jitgarun, Thitinai Susantitanon, Somchai Arunrungrusmi, Charathip Chunkul, Anuvat Tongsakul The IADIS International Conference Applied Computing, February 22-25, 2005, Algarve, Portugal, pp. 87-92 The purpose of this study was to develop a virtual learning course of ETE 311 Principles of Technical Teaching as a case study through Learning Management System (LMS) developed by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). There were 125 two phases for the scope of study. The first phase was to develop a virtual learning course of ETE 311 subject through video tapes by which the students and an instructor would be recorded in a regular classroom. The instructor could use power point application and/or any other forms of teaching materials such as image or animation as well as teaching methods such as students' discussion and/or presentation. In fact, this classroom would allow other students to obtain course-related materials online and offline via the internet. Then, on the second phase the video tapes already mentioned would then be uploaded to the university's web link in which students can view instructor's lectures. This second phase would be composed of two sections : one would be for instructor and the second one for students. These two sections would deal with LMS (Learning Management System). Thus, as an instructor, the list of major menus would be login-logout, password, inbox, calendar, course syllabus, score distribution, announcement, weekly plan, handout, video, assignment, course tracker, examination, grading, and webboard, to name a few. This KMUTT-LMS would be available for students to log in and to connect with the lecturers, then to learn all the knowledge from the course. IC-149 FACTORS AFFECTING LEARNING ORGANIZATION OF PERSONNEL AT KING MONGKUT’S UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY THONBURI Pimkarn Oonkul, Kalayanee Jitgarun, Apichai Therdthianwong The 19 th International Conference, “Learning Organization in a Learning World” (ICLORD 2005), April 18-22, 2005, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand, pp. 754-763 The purposes of this research were to analyze and to describe the major factors that affected Learning Organization of personnel at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. The sample chosen for this study were 1,937 of personnel at KMUTT. The instrument used for data collection was 7 rating scales. The reliability of the instrument calculated by Cronbach Alpha Coefficient was 0.9814. The data was analyzed by using Means (X), Standard Deviation (S.D.) and Analysis of Factors by Principal Component Analysis technique : PCA, orthogonal rotation axis by Varimax Method. 126 The results of the study were as follows: There were 12 major factors that affected Learning Organization as follows : 1) Mental Models 2) Critical Thinking 3) Systems Thinking 4) Work Improvement 5) Personal Mastery 6) Shared Vision 7) Creative Thinking 8) Learning 9) Systematic Thinking 10) Cooperation 11) Lifelong Learning 12) Brainstorming. These factors could be explained from 64.492 % of the total variance. The value of Correlation Coefficient between 12 factors and 76 variables was 0.389 - 0.779 The value of Correlation Coefficient between 12 factors that affected Learning Organization was 0.549 - 0.962, which was in a high level. The value of Correlation Coefficient within the 12 internal factors was of 0.003 - 0.101, which was in a low level. The regression or predicting equation of factors that affected Learning Organization was : Y = 0.923(M ental M odels ) + 0.734(C ritical T hinking ) +0.659(S ystems T hinking ) + 0.549(W ork I mprovement ) + 0.908(P ersonal M astery ) + 0.852(S hared V ision ) + 0.922(C reative T hinking ) + 0.801(T eam L eaming ) +0.581(S ystematic T hinking ) + 0.810(C ooperation ) + 0.962(L ifelong L earning ) + 0.833(B rainstorming ) The prediction equation has the power of prediction up to 75.289 % and error of prediction was 8.336 %. IC-150 AN ANALYSIS OF FACTORS THAT AFFECTED LEARNING ORGANIZATION ACCORDING TO COMMERCIAL BANK EMPLOYEES' OPINIONS Thananuwat Baykaykom, Kalayanee Jitgarun, Sangdeun Thaveesin, Saowapha Chutiteeravit The 19 th International Conference, “Learning Organization in a Learning World” (ICLORD 2005), April 18-22, 2005, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand, pp. 500-506 The purposes of this research were to analyze and to describe major factors that affected learning organization according to commercial bank employees' opinions. The sample chosen for this study were 1,822 commercial bank employees. An instrument used for collecting data was a 7-rating scale. Reliability of the instrument calculated by Cronbach Alpha Coefficient was at 0.96. The data analyzed by using means (X), Standard KMUTT Annual Research Abstracts 2005 Deviation (S.D.) and Analysis of Factors by Principal Component Analysis technique: PCA, orthogonal rotation axis by Varimax Method. The results of the study were as follows: 1) The means (X) and Standard Deviation (S.D.) of 100 factors that affected learning organization according to commercial bank employees' opinions of this study were at 3.268-5.666 and 1.360-2.130 which were rather at low to high levels. 2) There were 9 major factors that affected learning organization according to commercial bank employees' opinions as follows: 1) Systematic Change of Thinking, 2) Personal Mastery, 3) Critical Thinking, 4) Shared Vision, 5) Self Development, 6) Shared Knowledge and Ideas, 7) Mental Models, 8) Systems Thinking, and 9) Team Learning. These factors could be explained total variance of 69.218%. A study of Correlation Coefficient between 9 and 100 factors was at 0.430 - 0.856 and the Correlation Coefficient between 9 factors affected learning organization according to commercial bank employees' opinions which was at 0.405-0.698 was at a high level. The Correlation Coefficient within the 9 internal factors which was at 0.001 - 0.068 was at a low level. The regression or predicting equation that affected learning organization according to commercial bank employees' opinions was: Y = 0.698(S ystematlc _C hange _O f _T hinking ) + 0.694(P ersonal _M astery ) + 0.606(C ritical _T hinking ) + 0.635(S hared _V ision ) + 0.581(S elf _D eveIopment ) + 0.525(S hared _K nowledge /I deas ) + 0.505(M ental _M odels ) + 0.481(S ystems _T hinking )+ 0.405(T eam _L earning ) The predicting equation had the power of prediction at 43.75% and the error of prediction was at 6.25%.
