KMUTT Annual Research

KMUTT Annual Research Abstracts 2005 learning achievement and satisfaction. The research tools were: 1) an IMMCIP on Multimedia Technology, 2) an achievement test, and 3) a questionnaire of learners’ satisfaction toward an IMMCIP. The research sample group was 32 students who were studying in the education technology department, school of Industrial Education, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. The research results revealed that the efficiency of the computer instructional package was 85.03/82.65, which was higher than criteria set 80/80. The analysis of learning achievement found that the effectiveness after the process (E post ) = 82.65 which was higher than the effectiveness before study (E pre ) = 31.92. The results could be concluded that the IMMCIP was able to increase learners’ learning achievement to 50.73. The mean of learners' satisfaction was at good level. Therefore, the IMMCIP could be used for self learning on multimedia technology subject. IC-170 THE POCKET PC GAME DEVELOPMENT BY USING GPS TECHNOLOGY Suwanna Sombunsukho, Suriyong Lertkulvanich, Chatchawan Luangusakul, Yongyuth Puttipolsotorn, Wijai Ruangtaweekun The 20 th International Conference of AIAER (EDUCON 2005), December 28-30, 2005, Punjabi University, Patiala, India, p. 24 This project presents a pocket PC game development which imply with GPS technology to make the game playing look colorful. The player not only plays the game but also involves in the game. The game is adventure game with the player be a character as a detective who tries to find a murderer in a mansion which uses the KMUTT’s field as a model of it instead. The player supposes to walk around to any rooms that match with the mansion in the computer in order to find the evidence for defining the murderer. For the time of developing the embedded visual basic is used as a tool to develop almost of the game and GPS tools SDK is used for the satellite connecting application. The signal which receives from Bluetooth receiver matches with the game map on the pocket PC. Finally the program is evaluated for the quality by 3 experts and finding user's satisfaction by 20 samples and the results show 133 that the quality is good and have a high level of user satisfaction. This means that the game is suitable to be a sample for developing the game entertainment. IC-171 THE INTERACTIVE PANORAMA SHORT FILM Nattapol Sinsevi, Wittaya Wisuma, Rungnapa Chanthosot, Suriyong Lertkulvanich, Waiyawat Saitum, Suwanna Sombunsukho The 19 th International Conference, “Learning Organization in a Learning World” (ICLORD 2005), April 18-22, 2005, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand, pp. 413-419 The purposes of this project are to develop interactive panorama short film which allows audience (1) to choose scenes on the monitor, (2) to evaluate the project and (3) to analyze audience satisfaction. In developing the research subject, edited and rearranged the frames were done according to the plot. Realviz Stitcher 3.1 program was adopted to construct 360 x 180 degree cylindrical panorama pictures. And Macromedia Director MX program was utilized to stitch the cylindrical panorama pictures together and to organize the sequence of pictures according to the script and story board. The interactive panorama short film can be run and displayed in computer. The researchers used thirty selected samples audience to evaluate satisfaction of many aspects of the film. Three specialists assessed the result of the evaluation obtained form samples audience. The result of the evaluation indicated that the overall quality of the short film is at 3.57 statistically meaning which is an average level and the satisfaction is at 3.94 statistically meaning. Therefore, it can be interpreted that the project possesses good quality. The integration of innovative technologies that the project adopted made interactive panorama short film that allows audience interaction possible. And it would benefit to making panorama short film in the future as a whole. IC-172 BASIC OBSTACLES OF DOING DIALOGUE IN THAI SOCIETY Warong Thavara The 20 th International Conference of AIAER (EDUCON 2005), December 28-30, 2005, Punjabi University, Patiala, India, p. 25 International Conference

134 The ancient Thai attitudes, which are passed down from one generation to generation, always play a major rule of training new Thai generations. These attitudes come in different formal and informal types and become essential parts of Thai cultures. Customary low is a crystal clear example of how the ancient attitudes affect Thai society in formal pattern. Moreover, children observe these ideas in informal learning pattern throughout their family members and society. It is a part of the socialization process. Those beliefs and values are highly informal, but they are very effective. They are parts of people perspectives which make people feeling things in their own views. They are usually different from others. All of these believe become obstacles to communication among Thai societies and organizations, especially in workplaces where want to be a Learning Organization. In fact, they are directly barriers to dialogue, a very important tool of becoming a Learning Organization. In another word, dialogue is the appropriate method to make communication among people effective. Because of some traditional culture, dialogue principles such as stage of being equal in ideas and observing acknowledgment of differences are not worked accurately. With these varieties of Thai culture, there are three outstanding values that make dialogue breakdown or less effective. IC-173 VIRTUAL CLASSROOM : FROM VIRTUAL TO REALITY Surapon Boonlue The 19 th International Conference, “Learning Organization in a Learning World” (ICLORD 2005), April 18-22, 2005, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand, pp. 287-292 A study on teaching and learning in virtual classroom was the teaching and learning situation arrangement in the virtual classroom on the internet as a supplementary to conventional classroom methods by using group learning activities combined with subject content integration. The study results found that students’ learning were increased by using virtual classroom. Students were satisfied of used technique due to their freedom on learning and they could learn when they were ready. It was self-study style of learning that trained the KMUTT Annual Research Abstracts 2005 students to increase their skills in seeking knowledge by their own together with living in learning society. IC-174 THE USING OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING IN VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OF STUDENTS IN COMPUTER EDUCATION COURSE Surapon Boonlue The 20 th International Conference of AIAER (EDUCON 2005), December 28-30, 2005, Punjabi University, Patiala, India, p. 22 Nowadays teachers who control content and assessment as lecture-based course will make the learners in the teaching and learning process only to be the receivers; lack of subject learning skill and self-directing. They do not learn to get the information by themselves. This results in unsuccessful human resources development of our country. The learners cannot catch up with the present social set-up which is rapidly changed. Thus life long learning should be implied. The purposes of this research were to study the achievement and the satisfaction of students by using the problem based learning in virtual classroom on internet. The research was done in the course of computer multimedia. The sample group was the 40 senior students of Educational Communication and Technology Department, students by purposive sampling in the first semester, 2005. The processes of research were: (i) Developing the virtual classroom on internet, (ii) Using the problem based learning in virtual classroom, and (iii) Comparative study of achievement and satisfaction of the students. The research findings were that the achievement of the study by using internet between pre-test and post-test scores were statistical different signification at .05 level (t=12.03). The students also, felt high satisfaction with learning on Virtual Classroom (mean= 4.2, S.D. =0.5). IC-175 THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF ONLINE GAME: CHANGING GIRLS’ ATTITUDES TOWARDS MALE USING CONDOM Surapon Boonlue, Jariya Neanchaleay, Sakesun Yampinij, Vitool Samaksaman, Samark Lamsom, Anuwat Cheyklim The 19 th International Conference, “Learning Organization in a Learning World” (ICLORD International Conference
