Need a Holiday Gift? The Palisades Cookbook is the Answer!! Our kids, parents, teachers, staff and principal have all come together to create an amazing keepsake cookbook sure to make anyone smile (and full!). These cookbooks will be hardbound, long lasting treasures filled with yummy dishes and treats as well as some helpful how to hints such as; cleaning up stains making crafts and other fun things. Cookbooks will be sold for $ 10.00 each. We only have a limited supply so make sure to get yours ASAP. They will be arriving before we let out for Winter Break so start shopping early. Sales will start soon, so watch for the crowds in the lobby! You may also bring your order to the office at any time. Going Green In Food Services At Palisades!! Beginning next week we are moving from using throwaway paper trays to recyclable 5 compartment plastic lunch trays. We are lucky to be one of two schools in the district to pilot the new trays, and we were awarded a grant to purchase the trays. By using plastic trays we will reduce garbage. Trays will be washed each day in our commercial dishwasher in the kitchen. Many thanks to Marci Christiansen, director of food services for writing the grant and supporting us in this opportunity. Congratulations Pacer 5/6 Blue – 2009 Football League Champions! The Pacer 5/6 Blue football team won the league championship game on November 14 th . The Pacer team was undefeated for the year, and we want to congratulate Palisades’ 6 th grade students Corey Rich and Ryan Moll for their work and dedication on the team. The team had a winning score of 34 to 0 against Sherwood capping an undefeated season! Way to go!!
Box Tops for Education UPDATE Thank you to all who have been dutifully turning in box tops. We're off to a running start with our Box Tops collection campaign for this school year. We mailed off 1820 Box Tops by the end October submission date which means PALS will get a check for $182.00 in December. This is a good start, but please don't stop now. We really need to gain momentum in order to hit our goal of $800 by end February. Remember to clip those box tops during the upcoming holidays and turn them into the school office or your teacher. I've attached a "Turkey Time" collection sheet. Turn a completed sheet in for a Puma Pride!
