The first TASLY International Leaders Convention was held in Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on June 28 this year. Under the title ‘The Peak of Dreams’, the theme was ‘Sharing the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine with all mankind’ and the event brought together 3,000 overseas TASLY leaders and distributors from more than 20 countries. The full-day convention was in two parts, the opening ceremony and presentations in the PICC’s magnificent circular plenary hall, followed by a dinner and music and dancing performances in the equally splendid Perdana Hall, the main banquet room on the Concourse level. Both halls have eight interpretation booths but on this occasion two MCs guided proceedings in both Mandarin and English. The event started with Malaysian drums and continued with a cultural film on Malaysia, a documentary about China’s current economic development, Malaysian, Chinese and African dancing and TASLY Group’s corporate video presentation. There were speeches by VIPs, the presentation of the Best Leadership Award and Best and Outstanding Stockist Award. “The plenary hall easily accommodated 3,000 people and the acoustics were excellent,” says Elaine Chong, head of admin/ HR for Tasly Malaysia. “Two large AV screens were provided and the meeting rooms are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. “The luxuriously decorated Perdana Hall suited our large banquet beautifully that night. Due to the large number of VIPs and participants from different countries, we had to request extra food at the very last minute but the PICC’s f&b unit rose to the challenge and made sure everybody enjoyed their dinner and had a lot of fun.” Go to page 29 j September 2008 | ami _27
