JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: International Administrator Salary Grade: Grade 4 Ref No: S909 Department: International Development Centre (IDeC) Hours per week: 37 Base Location: Special conditions: International Centre at Park Campus Fixed term contract to cover maternity leave until January 2013. The post is based at the Park Campus, Cheltenham. The post holder may be based at any premises that the University occupies and may be required to work at any University site or any other reasonable location where the University is undertaking its business. The post holder will, on occasions and through prior agreement with their line manager, be required to work evenings and weekends. GENERAL The International Development Centre (IDeC) has sole responsibility for the recruitment, admission and ongoing support of international students from a portfolio of countries. It also leads the university’s activities in developing overseas partnerships for delivery of its courses outside of the UK and manages its ongoing relationships with partner institutions, agents, scholarship organisations, British Council offices and foreign embassies. The Centre has ambitious targets to grow student numbers to the university. The IDeC office is a busy, customer-focused environment in which to work. An important part of the ethos is that staff work co-operatively across all sections to provide an efficient, culturally sensitive and friendly service to staff, students, applicants of the University and all those with whom we come into contact. The International Administrator is one of a team of two people providing essential administrative, financial, and clerical support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the centre. The post holder is expected to make autonomous decisions when his/her line mangers are away from the office.
