CLASS DEFINITIONS (The

CLASS DEFINITIONS (The word 'Dog' includes both sexes) Baby Puppy Class is confined to dogs over 4 and under 6 months of age on the day of the Show. Dogs entered in this class are not eligible to challenge for the Green Star and may not take part in any further competition except Best Baby Puppy In Show. A Puppy Class is confined to dogs over six and under twelve months of age on the day of the Show. A Junior Class is for dogs between nine and eighteen calendar months of age on the first day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth. An Intermediate Class is for dogs between 15 and 24 calendar months of age on the day of the Show. Open Class is for dogs over 15 months of age on the day of the Show. Champions Class is for dogs who have gained the title of Champion under the rules and regulations of the Irish Kennel Club or another recognised Kennel Authority confirmed by the date of closing of entries. Veteran Class is for dogs over eight years of age on the day of the Show ** Please note – a Veteran Dog who is also a Champion may enter in either Veteran or Champion Class but not both.** Field Trial Class is confined to dogs who have won at lease a reserve in Open Stake as defined in the Field Trial Rules & Regulations. Puppy, Novice, Derby or Puppy Stakes Dogs 6 – 12 months & Puppy Stakes Bitches 6 – 12 months, four dogs and four bitches will be selected by the judge to compete for Best Puppy. Allianz Junior Stakes Dogs (6 to 18 months) & Pet Plan Junior Stakes Bitches (6 to 18 months) 1. Separate Dog and Bitch "qualifying" classes will be held, and the Allianz Junior Stakes "Final" will be held during the afternoon. One dog and one bitch to qualify from each cl ss, which will give a total of two in the "Final" One overall winning dog or bitch will then be chosen as the "Allianz Junior Winner" 2. Placing in the two qualifying classes as follows:- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Reserve, VHC. With prize money as follows:- 1st €30, 2nd €25. 3rd €20. Reserve €15. and VHC €10. Rosettes will be given out for all placing. Placing in the "Final" 1st and 2nd with prize money as follows. 1st €200 and a trophy, 2nd €75. Rosettes to be given to both winner and runner–up. Veteran Stakes is for dogs over eight years of age on the day of the Show Champion Stakes is for dogs who have gained the title of Champion under Irish Kennel Club rules or under another recognised Kennel Authority confirmed by the date of closing of entries. All exhibits entered in stake classes must be entered in their relevant breed class with the exception of Veteran Stake Classes § The Stake Classes at this Show are separate from the breed judging and do not www.DogShowEntry.ie come under the rules of the Green Star System. An exhibit which has been beaten in a Stake Class but wins Best of Breed may proceed to compete in its relevant Group. The decisive date in respect of age is the day the dog is shown. 6

OBEDIENCE CLASS DEFINITIONS PRE -BEGINNERS Confined to dogs or handlers which have not been awarded a first prize (on or under 10 marks) in any obedience test under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under any Kennel Club recognised by The Irish Kennel Club. BEGINNERS Confined to dogs or handlers which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or awarded three or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks) in any obedience test under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under any Kennel Club recognised by The Irish Kennel Club. NOVICE Confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience class other than in Beginners Obedience class. CLASS A OBEDIENCE Confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience Class other than in Beginners and Novice Obedience classes. CLASS B OBEDIENCE Confined to dogs which have not been awarded a Green Star or four or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience Classes with the exception of Beginners, Novice or Graduate Obedience classes. CLASS C CH. OBEDIENCE: Open to all. AGILITY CLASS DEFINITIONS Grade 1 For handlers or dogs which have not gained first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1, are not eligible for this class Grade 2 For handlers or dogs which have qualified out of Grade 1 but have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1, are not eligible for this class. Grade 3 Open to dogs which ar not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7. www.DogShowEntry.ie Grade 5 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 or elected to progress on points from Grade 4 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 5 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 6 at Irish Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. Two first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes. Green Star Agility Class Open to dogs having qualified to compete in Grade 7. To consist of 2 qualifying rounds of Irish Kennel Club Classes, 1 Agility Class and 1 Jumping Class and a final round of Agility to be held at the same Show. 7
