Midwest Tennis Programs (formerly Frank Sachs Tennis) has more than 30 years experience in the<br />

development, marketing, and management of tennis programs for cities, park districts, villages,<br />

Held at Keith Mione Community <strong>Park</strong> tennis courts and Carl Sandburg Middle School.<br />

Min/Max: 4/10<br />

Advanced Beginner • For those who have had basic instruction but need further review of<br />

fundamentals. Includes: stroke development, footwork, strategy and match play.<br />

Beginner (Adult) • No experience or quite limited. You are working to get the ball over the net.<br />

You may be familiar with scoring, but not with basic positions and procedures of singles/doubles.<br />

Includes: stroke production, basic court position, and singles and doubles strategy.<br />

Beginner (Youth) • For those taking up the game. Includes: hand-eye coordination, racquet skills,<br />

stroke production (emphasis on groundstrokes, serve, returns, volleys), court position, scoring and<br />

singles/doubles strategy.<br />

Intermediate • You've developed more dependable strokes but are working to keep the ball in<br />

play. You need to develop court coverage, judgment of the ball, speed and direction. Includes:<br />

stroke development, footwork, consistency drills, strategy, play action drills and match play.<br />

Intermediate 1 • You have more dependable strokes but can't judge where ball is going. You<br />

have weak coverage and are working to keep ball in play. Includes: stroke development, footwork,<br />

court position, strategy, consistency drills and match play.<br />

Intermediate 2 • You can place shots with moderate success and sustain a slow-pace rally, but<br />

aren't comfortable with all strokes and lack consistency in serving. Includes: advanced stroke<br />

development, footwork, court position, strategy, consistency drills, competitive play drills and<br />

match play.<br />

Pee Wee • Young ones develop coordination and motor skills needed for tennis.<br />
