Double Celebration:<br />
Tripartite Golf Friendly and OCC Turns 20!<br />
The mood on 28 July was almost<br />
festive. It was the 20 th edition of the Tripartite<br />
Golf Friendly, which drew about 200 golfers.<br />
The event was made especially meaningful as<br />
it coincided with the <strong>Club</strong>’s 20 th anniversary.<br />
There was also a cake cutting ceremony to<br />
commemorate the double celebration.<br />
Many may not know that the idea for a Tripartite<br />
Golf Friendly came from Emeritus Senior Minister<br />
Goh Chok Tong back in 1993 when he was Prime<br />
Minister. Subsequently, our <strong>Club</strong> Captain, Oscar<br />
Oliveiro, who was then the NTUC President,<br />
organised the first Tripartite Golf Friendly event in<br />
OCC. Since then, it has become an annual fixture on<br />
OCC’s annual calendar.<br />
This year’s champion’s trophy went to the union<br />
team. Well done to all winners and we look<br />
forward to hosting the event again next year!<br />
