TOP BOYS TEAMS

• Brentwood: Strong sophomore and junior runners give Bruins good chance to repeat

as Class AAA champ.

• Brentwood Acad.: Defending Division II-AA champ returns six runners, may get

strong challenge from McCallie.

• Montgomery Bell Acad.: Talented sophomore and junior runners give MBA chance

for another top three finish in DII-AA.

• Oakland: Returns six of its top seven runners, hoping for top-three finish in Class

AAA.

• University School of Nashville: Seniors William Doak and Ben Keffer hope to lead

repeat in DII-A.

TOP BOYS RUNNERS

• Eric Anderson, MBA, Jr.: Finished third in Division II-AA in 16:39.34.

• Brock Baker, Oakland, Sr.: The Division I prospect collapsed from dehydration while

leading the Class AAA meet with about 400 meters left.

• Sam Klockenkemper, M.L. King, Sr.: Won the Class A/AA title in 16:22.46.

• Alec Thomas, Brentwood, Jr.: Finished eighth in Class AAA in 16:19.37.

• Conner Thompson, Oakland, Sr.: The Division I prospect finished seventh in Class

AAA in 16:18.63 and won the Midstate points championship.

STATE CONTENDERS


• Class A/AA: Hume-Fogg, Greenbrier, Lipscomb, Central Magnet

• Class AAA: Brentwood, Oakland, Siegel, Independence

• Division II-A: USN, FRA, Webb School

• Division II-AA: Brentwood Acad., MBA, Father Ryan

TOP GIRLS TEAMS

• Brentwood Acad.: Six of top seven runners return, Eagles hoping for top-three finish

in Division II-AA.

• Harpeth Hall: Defending Division II-AA champ lost six runners to graduation, but topthree

finish may be possible.

• Macon Co.: Class A/AA title is a possibility with seven returning runners from last

year’s third-place team.

• Ravenwood: With three returning runners, defending Class AAA champ hoping for

top-five finish.

• University School of Nashville: Returns seven of top eight from last year’s Division

II-A champ.

TOP GIRLS RUNNERS

• Barbara Lee Ball, Lipscomb Acad., Sr.: Won her second straight Class A/AA title in

19:21.93.

• Allison Cheeseman, Brentwood Acad., Jr.: Finished second in Division II-AA in

19:08.23 and won the A.F. Bridges Invitational in 19:49.30.

• Hannah Denton, Dickson Co., Sr.: Finished seventh in Class AAA in 19:16.41 last

year after finishing fourth in 2010.

• Reagan Freeman, Harpeth Hall, So.: Won Division II-AA in 18:59.32, Tennessee

Classic silver division (19:21.37).


• Nicole Gardner, Siegel, So.: Posted the fastest time (18:52.83) of any runner from

Middle Tennessee at the state meet, where she finished second in Class AAA.

• Class AAA: Ravenwood, Station Camp, Siegel, Brentwood

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

This year's state meet for Class A/AA, Class AAA, Division II-A and Division II-AA boys

and girls will be Nov. 3 at the Steeplechase course in Nashville.
