The Ugly Duckling
by Hans Christian Andersen
In 1843, Denmark’s best-loved and best-known writer Hans Christian
Andersen (1805-1875) wrote the story of The Ugly Duckling.
This poignant tale tells of the duckling who grew up by a duckpond
and endured so much misery because it was different from the
other ducklings. But it had other
qualities and by the end of the
story had turned into a beautiful
swan – the best of all birds,
the storyteller says.

»Looks shouldn’t
make a difference…«
The first Mini Crosser electric scooter came to the world in 1980, and
was certainly no swan to look out. Its friends and relations could only
shake their heads and sigh, »Whatever next?« But the ugly duckling
proved to be strong, stable and safe – and laid the foundation for
new and unimagined freedoms for the physically disabled.

Since 1980 Mini Crosser has been producing electric scooters and
wheelchairs for the elderly and the disabled. Mini Crosser’s vision is
to offer solutions for the walking-impaired, enabling them to keep
up an active, socially-grounded life, and as far as possible without
the help of other people.
Mini Crosser is particularly noted for its smart designs, manoeuvrability
and powerful motors. This last has made Mini Crosser extremely
popular in countries with steep slopes and hills. Even ice
and snow cannot stop these all-terrain vehicles – for of course, Mini
Crosser is also available with studded tyres.

Over the years Mini Crosser has acquired all the knowledge and
expertise to secure users the maximum pleasure and benefit from
their electric scooter or wheelchair. And when standard solutions
– as supplemented by our wide range of accessories – are still not
enough, a special adaptation can be developed in close consultation
with technical aid centres, institutions and the disabled organisations.
The current Mini Crosser range includes some 20 models and a
wide selection of accessories – including other life-enhancing disabled
