DO YOU WANT THE POWER TO REDUCE SCOUR?
WHOLE MILK ADDITIVE FOR CALVES
The lower pH in the alimentary tract from the
acidification of milk is credited for reducing the
incidence of infectious scours.
The ‘Kestral’ blend in Milkshake quickly reduces the
pH of the milk thereby reducing bacterial growth.
Acidification permits higher milk intakes while
limiting nutritional scour.
Milkshake contains dextrose which is a
readily available source of energy.
Milkshake encourages and assists in
milk protein utilisation.

THE WHOLE MILK ADDITIVE
FOR CALVES
Despite the popular belief that milk is natures
‘perfect’ food, it is deficient in a number of important
nutrients. Milkshake is a whole milk additive for calves
and provides an easy option for improving the quality of
the milk for feeding to calves by fortifying it with many
essential nutrients. Milkshake also contains ‘Kestral’
organic acids which acidify the milk and this provides
nutritional advantages for calves fed whole milk.
What are the unique features and benefits of
Milkshake?
• Milk is digested primarily by the formation of a curd
by acids and enzymes that are produced in the
stomach. When calves are fed large quantities of
milk they may not be able to produce sufficient acids
to digest the milk. Therefore some milk may escape
to the lower gut where it is not digested properly.
This may result in nutritional scour. Milkshake is
acidified to assist the calf’s natural mechanism of
milk digestion by supplementing the calf’s own
production of acids in the stomach. Acidification
results in a more desirable pH in the gastrointestinal
tract and this may aid digestion in calves fed
restricted or ad-libitum quantities of whole milk and
allow for greater feed intake.
7.5kg
500 doses per bucket
Milkshake may be fed from day 2 of life
1 Bucket will treat 500 gallons (2280) litres of milk
1 scoop per gallon of whole milk. Scoop enclosed in every
bucket
Note: Milkshake is made from 100% soluble ingredients,
and is completely soluble in both milk and water. We
recommend dissolving the product in a small amount of
water for even mixing.
Milkshake can be used in both automatic and bucket
feeding systems.
