Ronkonkoma Hub Downtown Revitalization Strategy,<br />
Brookhaven, NY<br />
Managed planning tasks associated with the preparation of a<br />
comprehensive land use plan to help guide the revitalization of a<br />
multi-block area around the Ronkonkoma Train Station, the busiest<br />
station on this branch of the Long Island Rail Road system. The<br />
plan included a comprehensive inventory, analysis and<br />
recommendations for zoning, parking, and circulation<br />
improvements. As part of the community outreach effort, a survey,<br />
aimed at understanding the issues and opportunities associated with<br />
redeveloping the area, was distributed to over 400 area residents,<br />
businesses, and train patrons.<br />
Herndon Metrorail Station Area Plan, Herndon, VA<br />
Project principal oversight for the Town of Herndon Metrorail<br />
Station Area Plan which includes over 180 acres of land that<br />
surrounds the future location of a Metrorail station. Project involves<br />
a wide-range of planning and design services in support of the new<br />
station area plan including preparing area and TOD plan scenarios<br />
and conducting interactive community outreach meetings with the<br />
Herndon public apprising the constituency of options, recommendations,<br />
and future site scenarios for their input and feedback.<br />
Commonwealth Flats <strong>Planning</strong> and Permitting, <strong>South</strong> Boston,<br />
MA As Project Director, assisted Massport in the environmental<br />
planning and permitting for a 3.4-million-square-foot mixed-use<br />
development on <strong>South</strong> Boston’s waterfront that encompassed 30<br />
acres of underutilized industrial land. The project consisted of<br />
apartments, hotels, office, retail, and acres of new public park.<br />
Harvard University, Cambridge and Allston, Project <strong>Planning</strong><br />
and Permitting Project Director for VHB MillerSellen’s ongoing<br />
planning, design and permitting work at Harvard University,<br />
including Institutional Master Plan, Hawes Hall, One Western<br />
Avenue Graduate Student Housing, Fogg Art Museum, Harvard Art<br />
Museum, Allston Landing, Everett Parking Garage, and Allston<br />
Integrated Traffic Model.<br />
North Main Economic Development Strategy, Worcester, MA<br />
Currently serving as project director for the North Main Economic<br />
Development Strategy. The plan is currently in the early planning<br />
process that will ultimately identify the land use goals and<br />
redevelopment strategies for 12 priority sites in downtown<br />
Worcester. The process will also include a series of public meetings<br />
and a design visioning charrette.<br />
