Marvel at the magic that surrounds Marrakech. On your

visit, you’ll take a look at the extravagant Saadian tombs

created by the Sultan Ahmed el Mansour in the late 16 th

century as the burial place for himself and his successors.

Admire the traditional Moroccan architecture of the

Koutoubia Minaret, whose tower rises 230 feet into the air.

You will also see the ruins of the Bahia Palace, once home

to Ahmed el Mansour. Stroll through Mellah, the old Jewish

quarter. Applaud for the snake charmers, musicians and

acrobats who perform in the bazaar in Jamaa el Fna

before taking a well-deserved break in the beautiful Menara

Gardens. Then visit the Museum of Moroccan Art, before

making your way through the fanciful Old Town surrounded

by 20 gates and 200 towers.

During your guided tour of Rabat, make your way

through the winding streets of the Kasbah des

Oudaïas, one of the city’s most stunning quarters.

Visit the imposing yet unfinished Hassan Mosque

that remains in a partially constructed state to this

day. Admire its intricately decorated minaret before

making your way to the Mausoleum of Mohammed V,

which houses the tombs of the 20 th century king and

his two sons. Lastly, wander through the Citadel of

Chellah and view its beautiful gardens, the impressive

Roman ruins, and the ruins of a small mosque

dedicated to Abu Youssef.

A local guide introduces you to this complex city,

perched somewhere between the ancient and

modern. It was once considered Islam’s third

holiest city, and from 1170 to 1180, held the title of

the largest in the world. The most influential, welllearned

scholars went to study in Fez, and it gained

the reputation of being the epicentre of study from

Europe to West Africa. See the Kairaouine Mosque,

one of the oldest and largest in Africa. Pass through

the gate to the Old Medina and browse the bustling

9 th century bazaar, where you’ll find everything from

olives to camels. Later, visit a local Koranic school

called a Medersa.
