Easter Newsletter 2012 - Whitley Academy

On the 8 th March we hosted our first challenge event. Dads, stepdads or carers of year 7 and 8
were invited to form a team with their children to score points by completing mini challenges.
There were seven challenges including Wii Golf, table tennis, a penalty shoot-out against a PE
teacher, and a maths challenge set by our maths department. The top prize was two tickets to
see Coventry City football team play at the Ricoh Arena, the prize for best team work was £10
cinema vouchers, and 2 nd and 3 rd place each got £5 cinema vouchers, and everyone had a
certificate for taking part. This was a very successful evening, that everyone enjoyed families
and staff from school. We are hoping to do another one in a similar format in the future.
