Hertz’s is one of the leading manufacturers of marine compressors in worldwide since 1965. Rising demands of the shipowners to
reduce maintenance costs were the reasons for Hertz started developing starting-air compressors in 3-stage air-cooled design for
shipboard applications.
The simple way of cooling is also the reason for more and more shipyards to prefer air-cooled compressors. Beside thisthe weight
and space is smaller thus enabling lighter and less expensive foundations. The total ventilation of the ship hasnot to be increased.
The compressors have only to be taken into consideration in arrangement of the ventilation.

Specially designed cooling system:
In addition to 1st and 2nd-stage
inter-coolers, oil cooler and
3rd-stage after-cooler are also
combined in extraordinary
bar-plate type high-pressure
aluminum radiator. Cylinders,
cylinder heads and compression
valves are also cooled by this new
cooling system.
