NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS ALWAYS UP TO DATE.
HARMAN has made it possible to combine the advantages
of an integrated navigation system with the benefits of
portable systems that can be updated at any time. In this
way, advances in navigation technology, new map material
by NAVTEQ, and personalized updates are always
available. With this capability, the Becker MAP PILOT is
timelessly unique and a lasting investment as part of the
car’s equipment.
INTEGRATION WITH ON-BOARD ELECTRONICS.
Interfaces with all vehicle functions turns the Becker MAP
PILOT into an uncommonly comfortable traveling companion.
The mobile navigation system is quickly and easily
inserted into the custom-tailored, lockable receptacle in the
glove compartment. As soon as the Becker MAP PILOT
is activated, it establishes links to the base radio, the car’s
combination instrument, and the speakers.
THE ADVANTAGES ARE OBVIOUS. The driver can
comfortably control the Becker MAP PILOT like an integrated
navigation system. Familiar operation, using the voice
recognition based “one shot” address input, the multifunction
steering wheel, and the rotating COMAND interface
knob is available. All functions are indicated in the central
display and in the combination instrument. Audible driving
directions are heard through the vehicle speakers. As with
a per manently installed system, the sound volume of radio
programs or music is automatically reduced while audible
driving directions are given. Beyond this, the Becker MAP
PILOT utilizes the car’s own GPS and TMC antennas,
assuring the best possible reception regardless of location.
An added advantage is the elimination of any unsightly,
annoying or unsafe wiring in the cockpit.
