EcoCentral living system products are designed to promote efficient and healthy
living spaces. These products meet or exceed industry standards and carry at least
one environmentally friendly feature, such as:
• Use of chlorine-free R410A refrigerant
• A 14 or above SEER rating for air conditioners and heat pumps
or a 90% or greater AFUE rating for gas furnaces

18 SEER air conditioner and heat pump use the environmentally friendly refrigerant

What Is SEER
The efficiency of air conditioners and heat pumps is determined by the SEER rating. The higher
the rating, the more energy efficient the product is and the greater the potential for savings on
energy costs. If your current air conditioner is more than 10 years old it most likely has a SEER
rating of 10 or less.
The chart above shows examples of potential energy savings. For every $100 spent to cool
your home with an 8 SEER air conditioner an 18 SEER unit would cost approximately $39.
Actual savings will depend upon the efficiency of your current system. To figure specific
savings information for your household, use the energy calculators and software at the
energysavers.gov website.
Also, check to see if your local utility company offers a rebate program for the purchase and
installation of an ENERGY STAR ® qualified air conditioner.
Quiet Operation
Enjoy quiet comfort. The fan blades on the W4GC8 series air conditioners and W4GH8 series
heat pumps are specially designed to reduce noise. A swept-wing blade with serrated edges
reduces turbulence and enhances performance. In addition to its heavy-duty compressor sound
blanket, the two-stage compressor is potentially up to four times quieter than a reciprocating
compressor. The W4GH8 heat pump also offers Quiet Partner technology for reduced noise
levels during the defrost cycle.
