Plymouth Park Pool...<br />
4501 Plymouth Park Dr. <strong>Midland</strong>'s<br />
outdoor public pool has a shallow<br />
area with a zero-depth entry and<br />
special spray features. It has showers<br />
and changing facilities with handicapaccessible<br />
dressing rooms.<br />
Plymouth Pool is open seven days a week during <strong>the</strong> summer for<br />

Beginning in June, group swim lessons are available from American Red<br />
Cross-certified instructors for Levels I (tiny tots for parent and child) to V.<br />
Stratford Beach... 3922 E. Ashman St. at US-10. Free,<br />
unsupervised public beach is open seven days a week during summer.<br />
Boating & Canoeing... Spend an afternoon on <strong>the</strong><br />
Chippewa or Tittabawassee rivers! Access to <strong>the</strong> rivers is provided at<br />
<strong>the</strong> Caldwell Boat Launch (S. Saginaw and Gordonville Rd.), and <strong>the</strong><br />
Golfside Boat Launch (502 Golfside Dr. between Currie Parkway and<br />
Chippewassee Park).<br />
Canoe rental is not available.<br />
Gerstacker & Longview Spraygrounds...<br />
Between June 1 and October 1, enjoy two spraygrounds in <strong>Midland</strong>.<br />
Gerstacker Sprayground, located near Farmers Market in downtown<br />
<strong>Midland</strong>, and <strong>the</strong> sprayground at Longview Elementary School are open<br />
daily, dawn until dusk, as wea<strong>the</strong>r permits.<br />
Water shoes are recommended.<br />

Trilogy Skatepark... Skateboarders and in-line skate enthusiasts will enjoy Trilogy Skatepark, located at 101 Golfside Drive in<br />
Chippewassee Park. Seasonal hours are mid-spring until snow is on <strong>the</strong> ground. The park is lighted until 10 p.m. Please use protective gear.<br />
In-line and Ice Skating Rink... Located at <strong>the</strong> entrance to Emerson Park, this regulation-size hockey rink is an in-line skate<br />
rink by summer and an ice rink by winter. No reservations are required, so drop in any time.<br />
BMX Track... A bicycle motocross (BMX) track is available at Stratford Woods<br />
Park, 3922 E. Ashman St. National Bicycle League-sanctioned races are held Tuesday<br />
evenings. The track is available for general use at all o<strong>the</strong>r times from 8 a.m. to dusk,<br />
wea<strong>the</strong>r permitting. A helmet and o<strong>the</strong>r necessary safety protection such as knee and<br />
elbow pads, socks, gloves, bicycle pads, a long-sleeve shirt, and long pants are strongly<br />

Rail Trails... The 30-mile-long Pere Marquette Rail-Trail extends to Clare and is<br />
perfect for long walks, running, bike rides, or o<strong>the</strong>r non-motorized activity. The trail begins at<br />
<strong>the</strong> Farmers Market in downtown <strong>Midland</strong>. The Chippewa Nature Trail connects to <strong>the</strong> Pere<br />
Marquette trail, <strong>of</strong>fering citizens ano<strong>the</strong>r natural pathway around <strong>the</strong> city.<br />
Bike Trails... <strong>City</strong> Forest, 2840 E. Monroe Rd., <strong>of</strong>fers 11 miles <strong>of</strong> intermediate to technical single-track trails. A sturdy bike, helmet, and<br />

Golf for <strong>the</strong> Whole Family... located on<br />
Currie Parkway between M-20 and Main Street, <strong>the</strong> Currie Municipal Golf Complex<br />
<strong>of</strong>fers three courses:<br />
• Currie East is a traditional 18-hole layout designed in <strong>the</strong> late 1950s<br />
by a local philanthropist, <strong>the</strong> late Gilbert A. Currie.<br />
• Currie West is a championship 18-hole course designed by Jerry Mat<strong>the</strong>ws.<br />
• The Par 3 course is a 9-hole course that's ideal for beginners and seasoned pros alike.<br />
All three courses are served by a clubhouse donated by <strong>the</strong> family <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> late Gilbert Currie. The<br />
Currie West Clubhouse features a full-service pro shop, lounge area, and Gil's Grill. There's also a wide<br />
variety <strong>of</strong> alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy in <strong>the</strong> clubhouse or on <strong>the</strong> course. Beverage<br />
carts travel <strong>the</strong> grounds for your convenience.<br />

Tobogganing... Four iced, elevated runs. Toboggans can be rented for a maximum <strong>of</strong> two hours.<br />
Ice Skating... Outdoor natural ice rink with an excellent skating surface. Skate rental available.<br />
Sledding... Sledding hill for plastic sleds. For safety reasons, steel runner sleds and snowboards are not permitted.<br />
<strong>City</strong> Forest Chalet... Sit by a gas log fireplace, drink hot chocolate, and watch <strong>the</strong> fun from large picture windows during hours <strong>of</strong><br />

Cross Country Skiing... Groomed trails are marked for beginners to an advanced 11k loop. A 1k beginner trail is lighted from dusk until 8 p.m. every evening that <strong>the</strong> Chalet is open.<br />
Maps are available in <strong>the</strong> Chalet and at <strong>the</strong> trail head, located at <strong>the</strong> west end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> parking lot. Skis, boots, and poles are available for rent at <strong>the</strong> trail head <strong>of</strong>fice.<br />

Supervised evening activities broaden experiences and skills<br />

<strong>Midland</strong> Civic Arena... Located at 405 Fast Ice Dr. (<strong>of</strong>f <strong>of</strong> Bay <strong>City</strong> Rd.), this beautiful 107,000-square-foot facility has two NHLsized<br />
and one Olympic-sized rinks for all levels <strong>of</strong> skating. The arena houses a concession stand for all <strong>of</strong> your food and beverage needs, and a pro shop<br />

Water/Sewer Billing<br />
<strong>City</strong> residents are billed quarterly for <strong>the</strong>ir water and sewer usage.<br />
The water/sewer bill is divided into fixed costs ("readiness<br />
to serve") and variable costs ("usage"). Usage is billed per 1,000<br />
gallons <strong>of</strong> water used during a three-month period. The readiness<br />
to serve fee is determined by <strong>the</strong> meter size <strong>of</strong> a home.<br />
Most homes in <strong>Midland</strong> have a 5/8-inch or one-inch meter.<br />
For billing purposes, <strong>the</strong> city is separated into three designated<br />
billing cycles, which are determined by <strong>the</strong> location <strong>of</strong><br />
service. Cycles are coded by color (Cycle 1 - red, Cycle<br />
2 - green, Cycle 3 - brown). 2011 due dates are below<br />

USING AUTO-PAY: Pay your water/sewer bill automatically<br />
through Auto Pay, an electronic funds transfer program.<br />
Customers choose a checking or savings account from which<br />
payments are automatically made on <strong>the</strong> day bills are due.<br />
