The Tortuga Story
In 1984, Robert Hamaty, a Cayman
Airways captain, and his wife Carlene,
an in-flight supervisor, noticed tourists
toting home bottles of rum as souvenirs,
even from islands where the sugar cane
needed to make rum was not grown.
And thus the Tortuga Rum Company
was born.
Founded in 1984, Tortuga Rum Company has grown to
become the largest duty-free and retail liquor business
in the Cayman Islands.
The enterprising young couple introduced Tortuga Gold and Light Rums of the
Cayman Islands, special private label blends of Jamaican and Barbados rums to
appeal to the Cayman’s growing cruise passenger business. Carlene began baking rum
cakes from her great grandmother’s island recipe – using Tortuga Rum of course.

Prices
All prices are in U.S. Dollars. All our prices include shipping, handling and foreign taxes/duties. You will
notice that the price changes depending on where the product is being shipped. Please look carefully
for your price depending on the delivery location of your order: United States, Canada, United Kingdom

Shipping Method & Delivery
We will ship orders via: Fed-Ex, UPS, or US Parcel Service (we reserve the right to ship via any other
common carrier). We ship most credit card orders within 24 hours, and will notify you promptly of any
back orders. All United States orders (except for express orders) have a delivery time of 4-5 business
days, other countries 8-10 business days. We are not responsible for delays that may occur during
shipping by the above common carriers. We gladly accept your US or CI dollar, checks, however they do
take 7-10 business days to clear before we can ship. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes, please provide the
physical address. Note: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah & New Years orders should be placed early
to ensure prompt delivery.
Rush Delivery
Next Day Air Orders must be placed by 3:00PM E.S.T. Monday-Friday. Orders received after this time will
not be shipped until the next business day. There is a $15 charge per package on next day air orders
within the USA. Upon request, Saturday Delivery is available only within the USA for an additional
fee of $15 (remember to add $15 for Overnight charge). Upon request, international orders can be
shipped International Express Priority, but there is no guarantee on the delivery date, due to foreign
customs agencies which reserve the right to hold packages for inspection, duties etc. For International

Return Policy
All sales are final. In the event that you received a damaged product you must contact our friendly
customer service department at 1-877-486-7884 or 305-378-6668. All claims must be made within
5 business days after receipt of merchandise.
Shelf Life of Tortuga Products
All our products have a 6 to 8 month shelf life. The only exception to this is our Tortuga Rum Fudge
and Tortuga Rum Truffles, which have a 3 month shelf life.
