To mark <strong>the</strong> 25th anniversary year of <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Lymphoma</strong> Association, we are hold<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

national conference to look at how to<br />

improve <strong>the</strong> management of lymphoma<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>elderly</strong>.<br />

We hear a lot about new <strong>in</strong>tensive <strong>the</strong>rapies and how lymphoma<br />

affects <strong>the</strong> young but very little about <strong>the</strong> group <strong>in</strong> which lymphoma<br />

is most common – <strong>the</strong> over-60s. These form <strong>the</strong> largest lymphoma<br />

patient population, are most at risk of <strong>the</strong> side effects of treatment<br />

and have very few studies aimed specifically at <strong>the</strong>m that address<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir cl<strong>in</strong>ical and psychological requirements. This conference aims to<br />

take a first step towards tackl<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>se challenges.<br />

We have assembled a group of renowned speakers who will talk on<br />

<strong>the</strong> particular problems of this very special group of patients – we<br />

hope you will be able to attend.<br />
