NCD783/3390-Introduction to Microsoft Suites 

This course covers the basic features of 

the 2007 and 2010 Microsoft Office Suite 

programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, 

and Outlook. Students learn the basics as 

well as the workplace terminologies of each 

program. Functions covered include document 

set-up and formatting in Word; creating 

formulas in Excel; producing simple PowerPoint 

presentations; and managing e-mail in Outlook.

Designed for those who are familiar with 

Microsoft Excel and wish to advance their 

knowledge and use of the program, this course 

enables students to master the advanced 

functions of this spreadsheet software. Students 

will use the software’s accounting and finance 

applications to analyze and manage data, 

resulting in presentations that inform and 

enhance decision-making. The second half 

of the course focuses on Pivot Tables, a tool 

that allows the user greater freedom and new 

avenues for analysis and visualization of data 

that is useful for management reports.

TAI CHI 

NCD929/3321-Simplified Tai Chi 

This course covers the 12 basic forms of 

Simplified Tai Chi, an ancient, yoga-like 

martial art that combines a comprehensive 

series of gentle physical movements, 

coordinated breathing, and meditation 

designed for health, flexibility, self-defense, 

and spiritual development. Tai Chi reduces 

stress, positively effects the nervous system, 

and improves cardio-respiratory fitness, 

strength, concentration, posture, balance, and 

coordination. The course includes screenings of 

Tai Chi videos. The second group of 12 forms 

will be covered in Part II.

The Language Auditing Program enables 

individuals to audit undergraduate language 

courses on a non-credit basis for a full semester. 

Course offerings include English as a Second 

Language (ESL) as well as French, Italian, 

Japanese, Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese. 

Those interested in auditing a language course 

should consult the undergraduate master course

150-Hour Real Estate Brokers Program 

Career opportunities for licensed real estate 

brokers range from owning and operating a 

real estate office or managing the branch office 

of a real estate company to overseeing real 

estate operations for a corporation or working 

for a developer. To be eligible to apply for the 

New Jersey real estate broker examination, 

an individual must have worked as a licensed 

real estate salesperson for at least the past 

three years and must complete 150 hours 

of pre-licensing education. The educational 

requirement is met by completing three courses: 

the 90-hour “General Core” course, which 

must be completed first, and two 30-hour 

courses: “Ethics and Agency” and “Office 

Management.” Those who successfully complete 

all three courses may submit an application for 

the real estate broker examination to the New 

Jersey Real Estate Commission. Examination 

eligibility is determined by the Commission.

This 36-hour course prepares students to both 

work under the supervision of a licensed 

pharmacist in either a hospital or retail setting 

and for the national Pharmacy Technician 

Certification Examination. Certified pharmacy 

technicians are responsible for many of the 

technical and administrative duties related to 

drug dispensing that were previously performed 

only by licensed pharmacists. Course topics 

will include medical terminology, prescription 

interpretation, basic calculations, and dosage 

forms. A 23% increase in the number of retail 

prescriptions over the past five years has led to 

a greater demand for pharmacy technicians.

– equipment, practices and procedures; 

pharmacy conversions and calculations, 

and pharmacy law. A pharmacy project 

demonstration is optional. Students will earn 

16 to 20 continuing education credits toward 

maintenance of the Exam for the Certified 

Pharmacy Technicians certification.
