The Sheriff’s <strong>Office</strong> Bureau<br />

of Administration is responsible<br />

for all support services within the<br />

Sheriff’s <strong>Office</strong>.<br />

It is headed up by Bureau<br />

Chief Mike Rice, who is a member<br />

of the Sheriff’s command staff and<br />

the sheriff’s main advisor when it<br />

comes to the administrative functions<br />

of the Sheriff’s <strong>Office</strong>.<br />

The bureau includes the Finance<br />

Division, Judicial Services/<br />

Central Records/Warrants, The Information Systems Division,<br />

the Property and Evidence Division, the Human Resources<br />

Division, Professional Standards, the Emergency Communications<br />

Division, Risk Management, and Grants Administration.<br />

Finance Division<br />

The function of the Finance Division<br />

is to account for and manage the fiscal<br />

resources of the agency.<br />

The staff reconciles and balances<br />

all accounts, prepares a complete set of<br />

financial statements for all funds, prepares<br />

the annual budget and ensures<br />

the money received from grants and<br />

federal agencies are spent in accordance<br />

with their specific requirements.<br />

The division is responsible for maintaining<br />

records for one general operating fund and 18 special<br />

revenue funds.<br />

Other functions include calculating and disbursing checks<br />

to employees for payroll, as well as disbursing checks to<br />

vendors for supplies and services. All expenditures are<br />

reviewed monthly for compliance with the appropriate budget.<br />
