<strong>New</strong> Year’s <strong>Day</strong> <strong>Levee</strong><br />
January 1, 2010 at Navy Hall<br />
On February 22, 1810, Speaker of the House of Representatives and leader of the<br />
War Hawks, Henry Clay of Kentucky boasted, "The conquest of Canada is in your<br />
power. I trust I shall not be deemed presumptuous when I state, . .that the<br />
militia of Kentucky are alone competent to place Montreal<br />
and Upper Canada at your feet."<br />
All welcome, 3:00 - 4:30pm. Official Toast to the Queen<br />
and Canada at 4:00 pm followed by The Fife and Drum<br />
Corps and firing of the cannon. Free admission and<br />
refreshments. Freewill donations gratefully accepted!<br />
