The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.
MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE HELD
AT 6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD TUESDAY
OF EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4278 W. ASHLAN AVE,
FRESNO CALIFORNIA. INTERESTED
CORVETTE ENTHUSIATS ARE
MORE THAN WELCOME TO
ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND MEET
OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is
defined in Article III, section 1 of the
bylaws in part as follows: "Membership in
Central Valley Corvettes shall be open to all
Corvette owners who are sponsored by a
member in good standing. Additionally, a
prospective member must, within a three
month period , attend two consecutive
meetings, participate in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two- thirds vote of membership present at
any general membership meeting by secret
ballot
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all
members must be a member of the
association providing club liability insurance
for CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings
or two sanctioned activities.
CVC membership dues are $67.00 plus an
initiation fee of $35.00. Membership entitles
two members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

I had looked forward to someday serving on
the CVC Board in order to repay the club for
all the good times it has provided to Jan and
me. Well, lo and behold, thanks to votes
from a lot of you good people I got on the
board sooner than I expected. And thanks to
the revised by-laws I went right to the
Presidency without any board experience.
We’ll see how that works out, but I will do my
best to perform the duties of the office at the
high level set by all our past presidents.
I’m not the only newbie on the board. Mike
Lebda (Treasurer), Dick Danielsen (VP-Public
Relations and Membership) and Debby
Anderson (Secretary) are also first-timers.
Skip Severance (VP-Activities) has served and
will provide a good source of corporate
knowledge. Also serving the club this year
are Craig Hansen (Parliamentarian), Chuck
Laningham (Sergeant-at-Arms) and Susan
Walker (Raffle). Charlie Fosnaugh will
continue his outstanding job on the club
newsletter.
As Craig said in his initial President’s letter
two years ago “one of my first thoughts was
where to go on the President’s Mystery
Run” Ditto for me! Craig came up with a
couple of great trips and set the bar pretty
high so I’ve got my work cut out for me. I’ve
got some ideas swirling around in my head
and I hope I come up with an experience
you will enjoy. I did like the last Mystery
Run that was 5 days and on weekdays. Feel
free to give me inputs on what you think of
that concept.
Once again the Christmas Party and the
Christmas Hay Ride were great successes
and enjoyed by all who went. Many thanks
for all the work done by Chuck and Sharon
Hall on the party and Charlotte Renna on
the hay ride. I can’t wait to do it all over
again in 2015. I am also looking forward to
the CVC Picnic on May 3 rd which I missed
last year because of my mother’s death.
Thanks in advance to the Kroekers for
hosting this fun event.
As this new board begins its journey we can
look to the past and all the great folks who
served before for inspiration (and guidance
if needed). Last month Craig went over the
accomplishments of the club in the last year
which included increased membership and
runs, an electronic newsletter, revised bylaws
and more. Working together we can
continue this positive trend and make a
great club even greater.

everyone a prosperous and Happy New

General Meeting Minutes
December 16, 2014
The general meeting was called to order at
6:31 p.m. by President Craig Hansen.
Minutes from the November meeting were
read by Linda Laningham in the absence of
Secretary Kim Fosnaugh. A motion was made
by Chuck Laningham and seconded by Lupe
Dawson to accept the minutes as read.
The transition was made, installing Debby
Anderson as the new Secretary and the official
duties were then transferred to her.
Parliamentarian Linda Laningham was thanked
for her service and given a gift by Craig
Hansen.
Treasurers Report was given by Fred Parks and
he stated that all the bills had been paid to
date. The transition was made, installing Mike
Lebda as the new Treasurer and the official
duties were transferred to him. Fred was
thanked for his service and a given a gift by
Craig Hansen.
Membership Chairman, Charlie Fosnaugh was
not present at the meeting but emailed that
all the memberships had been renewed
except for two.
Vice President of Public Relations, Skip
Severance reported on the birthdays and
anniversaries for the club for December. The
transition was made, installing Dick Danielsen
as the new Vice President of Public Relations
and the official duties were transferred to
him. Skip was thanked for his service and
given a gift by Craig Hansen.
Vice President of Activities, Pam Hansen gave
her report thanking the Halls for hosting a
wonderful Christmas party at Piccadilly and
Chuck said that they came in $74 under
budget! The Hay Ride at Charlottes was a huge
success as well and a big thank you to
Charlotte for that. Sergeant of Arms, Lupe
Dawson collected $1.50 in badge fines.
The Sunshine Report was given by Jan
Pflepsen.
Old Business:
Ed Dena agreed to sponsor CVC for another year
and sent in his check. Congrats were given to
The Hayes on their new 2015 Corvette! Craig
listed all the past Club Presidents and thanked
them for stepping up giving so many years of
service. Craig then turned the meeting over to
New President Gary Pflepsen.
New Business:
Gary’s first order of business was to suggest
that we try to plan more 3 day runs like we’ve
had in the past.
He also stated that Susan Walker will now be
doing the Raffle. Dick Danielsen will be in
charge of Membership. Chuck Laningham will
be Sergeant of Arms. Craig Hansen will be
Parliamentarian and Jan Pflepsen has agreed
to stay on for Sunshine news.
Sharon Condley announced she has started a
new business of selling a car cleaner that we
might all be interested in to clean our
corvettes with.
Becky Helm, a friend of Terry & Debby
Anderson attended the meeting as a visitor
who might be interested in joining.
December Board meeting will be on Dec 23 rd
at the Pflepsen’s.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by
Keith Garrison & seconded by Joyce Kroeker.
Meeting adjourned at 7:19p.m.

THANKS TO ALL FOR SUBMITTING THE NEWS REGARDING THESE
BUSY LIVES AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.
1. SOME NEWS ON OUR FRIENDS ROY AND MARYANNE WHITSON.
IT SEEMS ROY HAS HAD A BIT OF A SET BACK WITH HIS
HEALTH. ROY WAS HOSPITALIZED WITH CHEST PAIN. THE
ANGIOGRAM SHOWED NO BLOCKAGE. THE CARDIAC PROBLEM
SEEMS TO BE RATHER PREVALENT THOUGH HE LOOKS VERY
HEALTHY. WE THINK OF YOU BOTH ALWAYS!
2. IT SEEMS MIKE AND DIANE HAYES ARE THE VERY PROUD
PARENTS OF A 2015 STINGRAY. WITH THE RAINS AND CLIMATIC
WEATHER THE LAGUNA BLUE BABY IS TUCKED AWAY IN HER
BED IN THE GARAGE.
3. PER PAT: SHE VISITED WITH SHERRY AND MARK DICKSON.
MARK IS DRIVING TRUCK SHORT HAULS AND SEEMS TO LIKE
HIS NEW EMPLOYMENT. HE LOOKS GOOD AND SAYS HE LIKES
THIS MUCH BETTER THAN LONG HAULS ACROSS COUNTRY. HE
WORKS 5 DAYS A WEEK AND IS HOME ON THE WEEKENDS.
SHERRY HAD SURGERY ON HER SHOULDER. IT IS MUCH
BETTER NOW BUT SHE EXPERIENCED ONE OF THE
COMPLICATIONS – A PROBLEM WITH THE ELBOW AND EFFECTS
THE USE OF HER THUMB AND FOREFINGER. SHE WILL BE
SCHEDULED FOR SURGERY TO CORRECT THAT PROBLEM.

4. AND NOW ABOUT OUR DEAR FRIEND THE KROEKERS. SEEMS
STEVE AND JILL WILL BE DRIVING ED TO PALO ALTO ON
THURSDAY FOR CONSULTATION WITH A HEART SPECIALIST.
LOTS OF PRAYERS FOR THEM.
5. FROM OUR DEAR CHRISTMAS HOSTESS, CHARLOTTE RENNA.
CHARLOTTE SAYS HER SISTER ROSEMARY AND HUSBAND
WILL ARRIVE IN A FEW DAYS FOR A HOLIDAY VISIT. THEY
WILL STAY FOR A WHILE AFTER CHRISTMAS BEFORE
RETURNING HOME TO MAUI.
6. FINALLY THE NEWS FROM JAN AND GARY. I AM SURE MOST
OF YOU HAVE HEARD THIS ALREADY, BUT WE WERE
INVOLVED IN A SIX CAR ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING TO
LEMOORE. IN THE FOG I MIGHT ADD. GARY’S CAR WAS
TOTALED AS I AM SURE OTHERS WERE TOO. IT WAS A VERY
FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. GARY WAS SPARED INJURIES, I
WAS TOSSED ABOUT IN THE CAR THOUGH WEARING A SEAT
BELT. I HAVE VERY SORE RIBS AND LEFT LEG IS PAINFUL. I
NOW HAVE A RENEWED RESPECT FOR ANYONE WHO SAYS “DO
NOT DRIVE IN THE FOG!” IT IS BY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT
WE ARE HERE TO ENJOY CHRISTMAS WITH FAMILY AND
FRIENDS.
THAT IS ALL FOR NOW, THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
TO SUNSHINE AND CLOUDS. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
AND JUST ONE MORE VERY SPECIAL MESSAGE. OUR DEAR MEMBER KIM
FOSNAUGH IS NOW HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AFTER HAVING BACK
SURGERY. SHE IS UNDER THE CARE OF CHARLIE (NOW THERE IS A
GOOD LOOKING NURSE!) AND PROGRESSING. SURGERY WENT WELL,
THOUGH SHE HAS LOTS OF POST OP RULES TO FOLLOW. SHE WILL NOT
BE ABLE TO RIDE IN A CAR FOR FOR SIX WEEKS AND SHE IS NOT TOO
SURE WHEN SHE CAN RIDE IN THE VETTE. LOTS OF GOOD THOUGHTS
GOING HER WAY AND CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HER!!!
