Course Syllabus
Course Name: Automotive Technology – Year 2
Course Objectives: At the end of the 144 hours of related instruction, the student will be able
to demonstrate cognitive competence as it relates to the State of Delaware skill standards for
automotive technology.

Method of Evaluation:
All apprenticeship training program participants must attain a 70% final grade to get
course credit for any year's related instruction program. Quarterly grades during the
school year will be averaged to calculate a final grade.
All review questions, quizzes, workbook exercises or homework assignments (where
utilized) will count for 25% of a student’s grade.
Any graded review questions, quizzes, workbook exercises or homework
assignments missed by a student will be marked “incomplete”. It is the responsibility of
the student to make arrangements with the instructor to have the work completed; these
arrangements must be initiated within one week of the original test date.
End of Module Exams will count for 75% of a student’s grade and require a 70%
passing grade for course credit. Retests and missed exams must be scheduled within
one week of the original test date and must be made up on a non-class night. The highest
score that can be awarded on a retest is 75%.
