THEATRE COMPANY (NEW!)<br />

Join <strong>NSSRA</strong> for a new theater program designed for<br />

teens! Our participants will be joined with Creative<br />

Companions and the Northbrook <strong>Park</strong> District Theater<br />

sta� to help facilitate a professional production of Little<br />

Red Riding Hood! Space is limited so register early!<br />

There will be additional practices during production<br />

week; schedule will be determined at a later date.<br />

Performances are scheduled for April 20 at 7:00 pm and<br />

April 21 at 1:00 pm. No Program November 22, December<br />

27, January 3, January 24 & March 28.<br />

GOALS: Gain experience in a theater setting and show<br />

production. Increase social interactions with peers.<br />

CREATIVE<br />

COMPANIONS!<br />

<strong>NSSRA</strong> volunteers: WE NEED YOU as Creative<br />

Companions for our Bright Star Theatre Company!!!<br />

We are looking for volunteers ages 11 – 22 ready<br />

to share in the fun and excitement of a theater<br />

production! As a Creative Companion, you will<br />

be paired with an actor or stage crew member<br />

with special needs as he or she participates in a<br />

professional theater production of Little Red Riding<br />

Hood! Space is limited so register early! There<br />

will be additional practices during production<br />

week; schedule will be determined at a later date.<br />

Performances are scheduled for April 20 at 7:00<br />

pm and April 21 at 1:00 pm. While there is no fee<br />

for companions, you must register using the code<br />

below. No Program November 22, December 27,<br />

January 3, January 24 & March 28.<br />

HORSEBACK<br />

RIDING<br />

Saddle up! Equestrian Connection is a one-of-a-kind<br />

stable that provides therapeutic horseback riding<br />

opportunities speci�cally designed for individuals<br />

with special needs. A certi�ed clinical therapist will<br />

work with the participants to help them gain strength,<br />

�exibility and balance through riding. The group will<br />

learn how to ride, groom, saddle and tack a horse.<br />

During the program, the group will also be engaged in<br />

other outdoor activities and a snack will be provided.<br />

Participants will ride indoors or outdoors based on<br />

weather. On the last day of program, friends and family<br />

will be invited to visit Equestrian Connection and watch<br />

participants ride.<br />

GOALS: Increase �exibility and range of motion while<br />

on the horse. Gain self-con�dence and a sense of control<br />

through stable skills. Develop companionship with the<br />

horse and a sense of responsibility.<br />

Grab your sticks and hit the gym! During this program,<br />

you will have fun learning the basic skills of �oor hockey.<br />

Each week, we will work on our skills and play a practice<br />

game. Note: This program is not competitive.<br />

GOALS: Build teamwork. Develop increased peer<br />

interaction. Learn basic �oor hockey skills.<br />
