wheelchair-accessible cabins are available on many services.<br />

Sleeper cabin is the most comfortable way to travel with <strong>City</strong> <strong>Night</strong> <strong>Line</strong>. You can choose between single-use cabins,<br />

solo-beds in multiple-occupancy cabins (gender-specific double, triple/quad) or private cabins for two, three or four<br />

people. Two categories are available; economy and deluxe.<br />

- Electric sockets: All sleeping car compartments have an electric socket which can be used for appliances such as a<br />

mobile phone or shaver. Comfortline sleeping cars also have a connection for a laptop. Most couchette and seated<br />

cars only have sockets for shavers in the washrooms.<br />

- Luggage<br />

Each passenger is entitled to carry hand luggage plus one suitcase or travel holdall, as luggage can only be stowed in<br />

the space under the beds, couchettes or seats and the shelves in the compartment.<br />

If the passenger's luggage extends the size to be stored in the booked compartment, the luggage can be transported<br />

in the separated luggage car (if available, see train overview). The transportation may be denied due to limited space.<br />

<strong>City</strong> <strong>Night</strong> <strong>Line</strong> cannot assume any liability for passenger's luggage, clothing or personal belongings.<br />

- Pets<br />

Dogs and small pets up to the size of a cat, which are carried in a basket or pet carrier, are permitted on board.<br />

Passengers who wish to take a pet with them must always book a whole compartment for their own use. Pets are not<br />

permitted in open-saloon cars or in the dining car and are not allowed on beds, couchette-bunks or seats. Dogs must<br />

be kept on the lead and wear a muzzle outside the compartment (except guide dogs and small dogs up to the size of a<br />

housecat). The fare for pets is EUR 30- and a ticket must be bought in advance or on board. This does not apply to<br />

guide dogs for the blind, which travel free of charge in all comfort categories.<br />

- Security and service on board<br />

Our crews patrol the trains at regular intervals in the interests of security on board. All sleeping and couchette car<br />

compartments can be locked from the inside by the customer. On request, the train crew can lock the double-deck<br />

sleeping car when passengers leave the compartment and open it again when they return. Comfortline sleeping cars<br />

have a punched card system which allows customers to lock and open the compartment from the outside themselves.<br />

<strong>City</strong> <strong>Night</strong> <strong>Line</strong> cannot assume any liability for passengers' luggage, clothing or personal belongings.<br />

- Women-only compartment<br />

A number of single berths can be booked in special women-only compartments in all couchette cars. The<br />

compartments in the sleeper car are automatically parted by genders. III. Individual fares<br />

- Prices are global prices (ticket includes a reservation)<br />

- In <strong>City</strong> <strong>Night</strong> <strong>Line</strong>-trains, reservations are mandatory. In addition to a train ticket you need to have a reservation for<br />

your requested category (seating, couchette or sleeper).<br />

Passholder 2 Passholders with pass covering partial route, at least one of the countries travelled through<br />

Group Minimum of 11 passengers travelling at the same time (except Paris- Germany: from 6 people)<br />

Reminder<br />

- Pass needs to be validated prior to boarding <strong>City</strong> <strong>Night</strong> <strong>Line</strong>.<br />

- Customers are not allowed to purchase a 1st class Passholder with a second class pass.<br />

- 1st class pass required for Deluxe Sleepers.<br />

- 7PM rule applies to FlexiPass holders.<br />

IV. Exchange/Refund<br />

- Refunds, when authorised, can only be performed in the issuing office up to 60 days after trains departure date.<br />

- Exchange can only be performed in issuing office. To exchange a ticket client must buy a new ticket and then send<br />

the unused stamped ticket back to the issuing office for a refund. V. Groups<br />

- On the Paris-Germany/Paris-Hamburg routes: if 6 or more passengers travel together, they are considered as a<br />

group. You are allowed to book them in Euronet as far as there are not more than 24 passengers making the group.<br />

- On other CNL routes: if 6 or more passengers travel together, they are considered as a group. You are allowed to<br />

book them in Euronet as far as there are not more than 24 passengers making the group.<br />

- For parties of more than 24 passengers, you must fill in the group booking request form to groups@raileurope.fr<br />

VI.Check-in procedures<br />

- There are no check-in procedures before boarding <strong>City</strong> <strong>Night</strong> <strong>Line</strong> trains.<br />

- Ticket control and passport checks will occur on the train.<br />

- Frontier documents are collected just after the passenger boards the train and returned shortly before arrival.<br />

Passengers in Reclining Seats keep their documents with them.<br />

- The train crew welcomes sleeping and couchette cars passengers on the platform and then goes through a check-in<br />

procedure with them in the compartment to provide all the necessary information about the course of the journey, the<br />

facilities in the compartment, how to contact the service team and about the inclusive services for sleeping car<br />

passengers. They also agree on the time of the wake-up call. During the check-in procedure, the crew will also collect<br />

the tickets and reservations if necessary, as well as passports / ID cards on international routes. This means that<br />

passengers are not disturbed during the night for ticket or passport inspections. All documents are returned to the<br />
