Minimum Attendance Required for obtaining eligibility to appear for the<br />

Examination<br />

A candidate must secure a minimum of 80% attendance in each year, in order to<br />

secure eligibility to appear for each End of the Year Examination.<br />

In the case of those students with 65% or more attendance, but could not attain<br />

80% attendance due to medical reasons, the Principal / Head of the institution, at<br />

his / her discretion, may grant the eligibility to appear for the examination, subject<br />

to the remittance of the “Condonation Fee”, fixed by the Government from time to<br />

time.<br />

Students who have secured less than 65% attendance are not eligible to apply for<br />

“Condonation”, and will not be allowed to appear for the examination under any<br />

circumstance.<br />

Students who have shortage of attendance, but not condoned, are not eligible to<br />

appear for the end of the year examination. They may seek readmission and<br />

repeat the classes. Application for readmission shall be entertained only for<br />

genuine cases on medical grounds and in doubtful cases, Principal / Head of<br />

Institution shall seek report from the medical board.<br />

Condonation by the Principal / Head of Institution shall be permitted only once in<br />

the entire course.<br />

If condonation is required for a second time, it should be obtained from the Joint<br />

Director of the respective Regional Directorate / Directorate of Technical Education<br />

under which the institution is situated, on the recommendations of the Principal /<br />

Head of Institution.<br />

Continuous Absence, Removal From Rolls and Readmission.<br />

A student who is absent from the class for a continuous period of 15 working days<br />

will be removed from the rolls. Such students shall seek readmission in the same<br />

academic year, submitting application to the Principal / Head of Institution citing<br />

genuine reasons. Such students should remit the required fee for availing<br />

readmission. Permission for readmission shall be granted only on genuine cases<br />

and only if the student can attain the minimum of 65% of prescribed attendance for<br />

the academic year. Otherwise the student will not be allowed to seek readmission<br />

in the current academic year and the student will have to seek readmission in<br />

subsequent years with in the validity of the registration. Such students seeking<br />

readmission in the subsequent years should get the permission from the Joint<br />

Director of the respective Regional Directorate / Directorate of Technical Education<br />

under which the institution is situated.<br />

Scheme of Evaluation<br />

The scheme of evaluation shall consist of,<br />

i. Internal Assessment.<br />

ii. End of the Year examination in Theory & Practical subjects.<br />

The maximum marks for End of the year examinations, and internal Assessment,<br />

both for Theory and Practical Subjects shall be 75 and 25 respectively except for<br />

Market analysis and Soft skills, for which only Internal Assessment shall be<br />

conducted.<br />

The total marks for each year shall be 550.<br />

All the End of Year examinations will be of 3 hour duration.<br />
