Day 11: Paris France

Today we have a late morning start. We begin at the Eiffel Tower, a puddled iron lattice tower, located on the

Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable

structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the

world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was

built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair. We will visit the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower where we will

enjoy lunch and time to admire the superb panoramic view over Paris.

Tonight we visit Montmartre. Montmartre is to Paris what Manhattan is to New York! Second in popularity only

to the Eiffel Tower, a visit to this romantic city of Paris is not complete without a visit to the quaint little hillock

of Montmartre. Perched right on the highest point in Montmartre is the world famous Basilique du Sacre-Coeur,

whose grace and beauty awes everyone who visits here.

Montmartre was once home to famous artists like Monet, Van Gogh and other French Impressionist artists, who

along the cobbled streets with their canvases and paintbrushes, painting up a riot of colors while the world

goes by.

Dinner tonight will be at the world famous Restaurant La Bonne Franquette, in the heart of Montmartre. You

will find this old house is more than four centuries old! This was the meeting place for Pissarro, Sisley, Cezanne,
