Step 7. Install the Java-based GUI <strong>RAIDWatch</strong> manager main program. An<br />

install shield will be prompted on the screen. Please refer to Section<br />

3.4.5 for step-by-step installation procedures.<br />

3.4.4 Installing <strong>RAIDWatch</strong> on a Solaris Platform<br />

Follow these steps to install <strong>RAIDWatch</strong> on your server(s) and RAID<br />

subsystems:<br />

Step 1. Insert the Infortrend product CD or <strong>RAIDWatch</strong> installation CD into<br />

the systems CD-ROM drive.<br />

Step 2. If you are currently running other applications, close them before<br />

proceeding with the setup process. This will minimize the possibility<br />

of encountering system errors during setup.<br />

Step 3. Be sure to install JRE 1.4.2 or above version on your server.<br />

Running older version of Java runtime may cause a failure of the<br />

<strong>RAIDWatch</strong> main program installation.<br />

Step 4. When the File Manager window pops up on the screen, doubleclick<br />

the file “unix.sh.” (See Figure 3-3)<br />

Step 5. A Run window prompt will display. (See Figure 3-4) To install the<br />

Java-based GUI <strong>RAIDWatch</strong> manager main program, type YES and<br />

then press Enter. This will launch <strong>RAIDWatch</strong> manager install<br />

shield. Please refer to Section 3.4.5 for step-by-step installation<br />

procedures.<br />
