PCBC Journal to
Publish Five Times
per Year
Chances are you might not even notice, but The Journal is going
to arrive in your mail a little less frequently than before. Based on
a recommendation from the PCBC Communications Committee,
The Journal will be published five times a year instead of monthly.
The change in publishing will provide a substantial savings in
printing costs and postage. It will also allow the publications
team more time to develop articles and other content. Under
the new schedule, each Journal will have increased content and
be timed to provide maximum impact. The new frequency will
be: January/February, March/April, May/June, August/September,
October/November.
The Journal is just one way that PCBC keeps members and
guests informed. Each week, Connect is available on Sunday
mornings with highlights of upcoming activities and opportunities
for service. In addition, PCBC will begin publishing and
e-mailing E-Connect, a weekly electronic newsletter that will
include news and events, The Journal in pdf format, ministry
opportunities, publication downloads, podcasts, and more! To
subscribe to E-Connect, go to www.pcbc.org/econnect.
And as always, full information, including details on events
and other time-sensitive information is available online at
www.pcbc.org or you can telephone the church office at
214.860.1500 or a staff member for specific information.
JOURNAL USPS No. 734-190 is published January/February, March/April, May/June, August/September, October/November except July and December by
Our teens are growing up in a world that is quite different from the one we did. In the
first session of this Wednesday night Lifetime course, you will learn about Facebook,
Twitter, blogs, Youtube, Myspace and cell phones. We’ll answer questions such as:
Why do teens care so much about technology? What are the obvious and subtle
impacts technology has on the way teens live their lives? What are the implications
for parents? How can we effectively raise our technological teens? The two sessions
are stand-alones, and the material is also appropriate for parents of 5th–6th graders.
