American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Quick Start Instructor Training
To participate in the First Aid/CPR/AED Quick Start Instructor Training, participants must have
current first aid/CPR/AED instructor certification credentials from one of the following organizations
which will be verified before Red Cross instructor certification is assigned:
Canadian Red Cross
American Heart Association
National Safety Council
Health and Safety Institute (HSI) including:
o American Safety and Health Institute
o Medic First Aid
Emergency Care And Safety Institute
Emergency First Response
State first responder instructor (or higher)
Contact Your Red Cross Training Specialist Before You Begin the Steps to the Quick Start
Provide proof of your current instructor certification(s) from one of the Red Cross-approved national
training agencies eligible for the Quick Start instructor training to your Red Cross training specialist
or other designated Red Cross point of contact who will assist you through the process. If you need
help, contact email@example.com or 1-800 RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), and let them
know you would like to be contacted by training specialist or Red Cross staff point of contact in your
area to begin the Quick Start process.
To Complete the Quick Start Instructor Training Following These Steps:
1) Successfully complete the Orientation to the American Red Cross on RedCross.org

Complete the 4 modules including History, Foundations, Key Services and Our Commitments
(approximately 1-hour to complete).
2) Obtain and Review Course Materials
Go to www.instructorscorner.org/FACPRAEDcandidates . You will have digital access to
all the materials you need to complete the training. You may download digital materials from
this site or select to purchase print materials. You will need the following:
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Participant’s Manual
American Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Ready Reference Card
American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Ready Reference Card
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor’s Manual
3) Complete First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Quick Start Instructor Training
Go to www.instructorscorner.org/FACPRAEDcandidates and complete the Quick Start
Instructor Training for First Aid/CPR/AED, found under the Quick Start Candidates tab
(approximately 2-hours to complete).

4) Complete the Quick Start verification at the American Red Cross Learning Center
Paste this URL into your browser:
Log into the Red Cross Learning Center, using the Learning Center link provided under
additional resources section on www.instructorscorner.org/FACPRAEDcandidates. If you
are a new user, create an account to log in; Disable pop-up blockers to help you navigate
through the process.
Click “Place Order” button at the bottom of the “Create Order” page.
Click “Launch Content” from “Order Items” on the “Registration Confirmation” page.
Note: If you do not launch the content immediately, you can access it later through “My
Learning” tab, click “My Learning” and then click “Launch”.
Click on the link "First Aid/CPR/AED r2011 Instructor Quick Start Verification" in the new
window that appears to launch the verification. Be sure to answer each question.
Note: If a “Security Warning” box appears, click “No.” The verification may take a few minutes
to load. Do not click any additional links or close any windows; doing this will interfere with
launching the verification.
5) Contact Your Red Cross Training Specialist or Other Designated Red Cross Point of
Contact* after you have completed the steps above and:
Let them know you have completed the Quick Start training process
Provide your name, username, and email address used to set up your Red Cross
Learning Center account
Provide proof of your current instructor certification(s) from one of the Red Crossapproved
national training agencies eligible for the Quick Start instructor training (if not

Red Cross Instructor Certification
Your Red Cross training specialist, or other designated Red Cross point of contact provided by the
Red Cross Training and Support Center, will use the information you provided in step 5 to verify your
eligibility and successful completion of the Quick Start instructor training and assign your instructor
certification in the Red Cross Learning Center. Please note: New instructors who plan to teach for
an agency or company or offer courses as part of their own training business, must be added to
either a current Authorized Provider or Licensed Training Provider agreement or complete an
application found on RedCross.org to create a new provider agreement. If you need assistance
