IS EDUCATION IN CRISIS

“Over the past two decades, the way we learn has

changed dramatically.

We have new sources of information and new ways

to exchange and to interact with information.

Schools and the way we teach have remained

largely the same for years, even centuries”

ENGAGING STUDENTS ON THEIR OWN TERMS

“..create assignments, projects and

techniques to capture your students'

attention.

Projects should be technology-rich, highly

engaging, and fun learning experiences that

reflect real-world skills.”

TASKS FOR EXPLOITING

INFOGRAPHICS

• Find 5-10 interesting facts in the infographic.

• Ask students to use a search engine and check some of the information in the infographic to

find out if it is true or false.

• Ask them to try to find a secondary source to support the information.

• Tell students to write up some of the information in the infographic as a summary text/report.

• Get students to prepare a spoken presentation to the class using an infographic as support.

• Get students to produce a quiz about the infographic to check the understanding of other

students in the class.

• Ask students what information in the infographic surprised them most.

• If the infographic is a survey you could get students to compare the statistics in the

infographic with an analysis of their class using the same questions.
