South Africa is the most interesting country on the African continent. It is a melting pot of cultures for

which South Africa also is named the Rainbow Nation. South Africa has a remarkable welcoming

society. Crossroads Motortours will take you on an unforgettable tour through this fascinating nation.

A combination of riding a Harley Davidson motorbike and absorbing the culture and history that

makes this country so different.

Day 1 – Amsterdam – Cape Town

At last you are on your way to South Africa. It is a night flight and you will arrive the next morning in

Cape Town. Your tour leaders are waiting for you in the arrivals hall and will accompany you to our

first hotel.

Day 2 – Cape Town

At the hotel a delicious breakfast is prepared for you and you will e able to spend your first hours

enjoying the morning sun of the Cape. The first 2 days we will get to know Cape Town. We will visit

the Townships, Table mountain, the Waterfront and numerous famous sites and buildings.

Day 3 – Cape Town

In the morning we continue our exploration and as a highlight we visit a wine estate and enjoy lunch

on the lawn in front of the historic farmhouse. At the end of the day we will collect our motorbikes at

the local Cape Town Harley-Davidson Dealer. Of course there is plenty of time to buy T-shirts and

other souvenirs.

Day 4 – Cape Town – Stellenbosch 184km

Today we first explore the peninsula and of course we head for Cape of Good Hope. At this historic

site we make a break to visit the lighthouse and enjoy a good coffee. You can watch the amusing

antics of the Baboons.

We continue our ride to Muizenberg and have a special location for our lunch. After lunch we head for

Strand and then turn land inwards to Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch is the Wine capitol of South Africa.

In the evening your tour leaders will take you to a special restaurant.

Day 5 – Stellenbosch – Montague 199km

In the morning we start with a breathtaking mountain pass which takes us into Franschhoek.

We will have a real cappuchino and then head for Paarl and Du Toitskloof. Du Toitskloof is absolutely

stunning. First a mountain pass and then descent through a canyon towards Worchester. After lunch

we ride our bike to Montague. This is another famous wine producing society. Here we sleep in a

boutique hotel.

Day 6 – Montague – Oudtshoorn 266km

Today our route brings lots of nostalgia. We are riding the Route 62. This is the equivalent of the US

Route 66. Both routes where made in the 20ies to ride towards a new life. There a many special sites

to see on this route.

Our stopover is in Oudtshoorn. The world’s Capitol of ostriches. On this night we will be able to enjoy

its fine meat.

Day 7 – Oudtshoorn – Graaff Reinet 318km

Early in the morning we will visit a famous ostrich farm and learn all about the breeding of the ostrich

and its luxury products. You can even ride an ostrich. Then we aim for Graaff Reinet. The road takes

us through the Great Karoo Desert. It is absolutely impressive. Breath taking canyon’s and mind

blowing desert. Today’s hotel is located in Graaff Reinet. Graaff Reinet is the heart of the Karoo. It is

as if time stood still in this historic town. After checking in the hotel we make a ride to Valley of

Desolation. The sunset is the reward at the close of this awesome day.

Day 8 – Graaff Reinet – Addo 240km

After another luxury breakfast we ride some more desert road. The aim is Addo so we ride

southwards. Riding into Addo is like riding into an oasis. Surrounded by fruit and citrus farms we

arrive at our hotel. Our hotel is in the style of an African village. Luxury clay huts spread out over a

plantation. This is where we will spend two nights.

Day 9 – Addo

In the morning we can visit Addo Elephant Park. With jeeps we explore this enormous national

reserve and hopefully we will encounter the majestic African Elephant. After lunch we will go to Scotia

Game Park. In this luxury reserve we will find the zebra, antelope, as well as the king of all animals,

the lion. We end the day with a dinner in the park.

Day 10 – Addo – Plettenberg Bay 220km

We head for the coast. The famous Garden Route is our route for the next days. It is all in the name.

Off course we pass through Tsitsikamma National Park and we will also visit one of the most

breathtaking beaches on the coast.

Day 11 – Plettenberg Bay – Mossel Bay 180km

First we can do a whale hunt. Nothing to do harm but just a great chance to see these majestic

mammals in their natural environment. This is something you will never forget. Absolutely stunning.

The whole day we will enjoy the Garden Route.

Day 12 – Mossel Bay – Hermanus 340km

Today we ride to Riversdale and then to Swellendam where we have an Authentic lunch in a century

old drostdy . Then we head for Agulhas. This is the geographically southernmost point of the African

continent. With its famous lighthouse it is a very special location. From here we go on for Hermanus.

This old fisherman’s town is known for its whales. We will make a stop at the viewing point but

actually our hotel is the hotspot for whale watchers.

Day 13 – Hermanus – Cape Town 204km

This is the last day of this memorable tour. We ride along the coast towards Cape Town. This road

must be one of the most spectacular roads in the world. Then we ride back to the Harley-Davidson

Rental Station and bring back our bike’s. This is the end of our riding part. But we have one more

evening and night to spend in Cape Town.

Day 14 – Cape Town – Amsterdam

Today the tour leaders will bring you to the airport and see you off. Later that day you arrive in

Amsterdam. You will return home with lots of stories to tell and memories to treasure.
