DASHER BOARD SYSTEMS 

Steel or Aluminum Frame...How to choose 

To help you determine whether you should install steel or 

aluminum dasher boards for your indoor hockey ice arena, we 

ask the following questions:

Because they are lighter in weight, aluminum frame boards 

have historically been more suitable for venues that require 

frequent changeovers. Steel frame dashers should by nature 

hold up better to constant use and abuse of the community 

rink that can log as many as 200 to 300 hours per month. 

Steel frame dashers can be repaired on site a lot easier than 

aluminum frame dashers.

Dasher Board Shielding Systems 

All four of these basic shielding systems are designed for 

both our BAP 6.0 Steel Frame and BAP 6.0A Aluminum 

Frame Dasher Systems and are usually installed with 

tempered glass.

The original BAP Posted Shielding System is a standard 

post with cushions (gasket) design that works very well in 

many ice arenas. On page 53 of the catalog we show in 

detail our post designs and accessories.

VisionRadius SYSTEM 

The BAP Vision Supportless Shielding System was the next 

generation in shielding systems for Becker Arena Products 

which gives the fans a clear “vision” of play without the 

posts. A unique panel design which secures each tempered 

glass shield panel into the dasher panel. This provides both 

integrity and functionality for arena staff without the use of 

separate shielding cushions. The ends on this system are 

segmented. 

When we use the Vision Supportless shielding system on 

the sides and posted on the ends we call it our BAP PV 

shielding System. This allows you the Vision viewing for the 

fans on one or both sides and the savings of the posted for 

the budget on the ends. 

The VisionRadius is the newest supportless shielding 

system with its radius corners. The tempered glass shields 

are actually curved to match the radius of the rink. There are 

no segmented corners. As with the regular Vision System 

there are no shield supports to deflect the puck or block the 

view for the fans. This is truly a unique product design and 

the players love the way it speeds up the game.

BAP 4.0 OUTDOOR DASHERS FOR COMMUNITY RINKS 

Communities are eager to bring back the nostalgic outdoor skating rink and Becker Arena Products’ BAP4.0 dasher 

systems are the perfect solution. The BAP4.0 Outdoor Dasher System brings back the traditional look of the outdoor 

wood hockey board system from years past however utilizing a galvanized steel structure with treated lumber for years of 

service. The treated lumber facing is both functional and attractive in a park setting. Chain link fencing is available for puck

The NIBCO Water & Ice Park, located on the east bank of River Walk commons in downtown Elkhart, Indiana, 

was designed as a seasonal venue offering ice skating in the winter months and in-line skating during the summer

DASHER SYSTEM RENOVATION 

We can help you get a few more years out of your 

current dasher board system by simply replacing worn 

out dasher components. Some of these components may 

be the cap rail, kick plate, gate hardware or entire gate 

panels. Our gate panels are engineered and constructed 

to the highest standards for years of reliable performance 

and are custom made to your specifications. Other 

replacement components are found on pages 49 - 53 in 

this catalog. 

If you didn’t put backer on your boards when first 

installed it is a great way to upgrade the look of your 

dasher system and your rink in general. This backer is 

the same durable material as our dasher facing and gives 

your boards a finished look. Available in various thickness, 

widths, sizes and colors in permanent or quick-release

Indoor Soccer Conversion: From Ice to Turf 

Converting your dasher board system for indoor soccer is 

relatively easy using BAP pre-fabricated soccer goals and 

support panels. It is easy to remove existing dasher panels 

and insert our soccer goals and pre-fabricated support 

panels. Give us a sketch of your current dasher board 

layout and we will price the goals, nets, support panels and 

shielding to fit perfectly in your dasher board system. The 

pre-fabricated soccer goals come complete with a header 

over the goal to match your existing shielding height. 

Retractable goals are also available to convert the field to 

lacrosse or inline hockey.

Loktuff ® 

Made from post-consumer recycled rubber, Locktuff is 

re-vulcanized during the manufacturing process to withstand 

a great deal of punishment without exhibiting cold flow. 

Loktuff is non-porous, easy to install (no adhesive or coatings 

required), resistant to bacterial growth, non-marking and 

easy to keep clean. The non-skid diamond surface is 

also non-absorbent. All color and black Loktuff flooring is 

interchangeable for mix-and-match design and is available 

with bevel or non-bevel edge. Note: Color selection should

Skate Traffic Carpet 

The “Anti-Carpet” Flooring Solution 

BAP Choice Skate Traffic Carpet is tough enough to 

survive ice skate traffic yet maintains its natural beauty and 

luster. Polypropylene fiber lasts longer than traditional nylon 

carpets and repels moisture to resist rot and mildew. A 

special anti-microbial treatment results in fast drying — ideal 

for locker rooms and other high-moisture areas. BAP Choice 

Skate Traffic Carpet resists stains and can be cleaned using 

standard shampooing methods. Needle-punch method 

of manufacturing allows flooring to be cut on to patterns, 

curves, borders and logos without fraying. Needle punching 

also prevents “zippering” like standard tufted carpet. The 

backing is waterproof. Easy to install with inexpensive 

multipurpose adhesive. Pieces simply butt together and do 

not need to be seamed. Both versions are available in four 

designs and a variety of colors.

DEHUMIDIFIER 

The MS-2600 ARID-Ice Desiccant Dehumidifier System 

The MS-2600 has been specifically designed for the seasonal ice rink, the smaller recreational, practice and curling ice rinks. 

Indoor ice arenas require humidity control to stop several problems, including fog, mold growth and dripping. Because the ice 

sheet cools the building, moisture-laden air from the outdoors condenses on anything below the “Dewpoint.”

stores enough paint for 1 coat. The twin 55 gallon tanks offer the ability to simultaneously mix paint in the back while 

painting the ice which reduces your time to paint since there is no stopping to mix the paint. Be advised the double

Cap Rail 

Cap Rail made of high-density polyethylene. Please

BAP's Solution to Cleaning Dasher Boards 

1. Combine: 

1 part Blue Dash + 2 parts Citrosolve + 4 parts water 

2. Spray mixture on boards (allow time for mixture to 

loosen grime). 

3. Scrub with a brush, Cyclo Polisher or wipe vigorously 

with cloth until clean. 

4. Cover new boards with exceed Board Sealer 

(two coats recommended). 

• Apply with paint rollers 

• Usage 1 - 2 gallons per 200' x 85' rink (approx.) 

Blue Dash 

A high abrasive dasher board cleaner for those really
