Identification 

You will be required to present one of the 

following forms of ID when enrolling with SRC; 

Passport Photo, Driving Licence, National 

Insurance Card or Debit/Credit Card. 

Payment 

You can pay by cash, cheque or credit/debit 

card at our Information & Guidance Office 

during our opening hours. If your course fee 

is over £90 you can set up a monthly direct 

debit to cover the cost of your fee. 

Employer payments 

If your employer has agreed to pay for your 

course you will need to bring the agreement 

in writing on your company letterhead when 

you enrol on the course as proof of this. 

Overseas students 

Your course fee will be different to those 

printed in this prospectus if you are 

classed as an overseas student. Please

Our financial support offer can help you get 

to college and stay in college. If you need 

some help with the cost of getting to college, 

your course fees, childcare or books and 

equipment, we may be able to help you.

Learning resources and support 

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at SRC 

provides a range of print, digital and electronic 

resources and other learning materials and is 

a quiet area for you to study out of class. 

The Learning Support Team offers support for a 

wide range of learning needs including literacy, 

numeracy, dyslexia, autism and other specific 

learning difficulties. The team can also help 

with exam arrangements (e.g. extra time), 

exam techniques, study skills, revision skills, 

organisation skills and much more.

Advanced Learning 

LOANS 

Learners aged 24 and over now have the option to either: 

• pay their own course fees 

• have an employer/sponsor pay the course fees for them 

• apply for an Advanced Learning Loan to help pay for the course fees 

The 24+ Advanced Learning Loans are for anyone who is: 

• aged 24 and above at the start of their course 

• studying at level 3 and above 

• is a resident of the UK 

• has not previously had a loan to do the same type and level 

of qualification 

The 24+ symbol, used throughout the prospectus, indicates

HEALTH AND SAFETY COURSES 

FOR ADULTS 24 YRS+ 

Rather than having to pay for courses up-front, you can now 

access a loan from the Student Loans Company, which is 

repaid only once the course is completed and if earnings 

are over £21,000. Loans are available regardless of employment 

status and there are no credit checks or means-tests.

How much will I get paid 

The current National Minimum Wage for 

apprentices in the first year of their 

Apprenticeship is £2.65 per hour, however, 

many apprentices earn significantly more 

than that. 

What are the entry requirements 

To be an apprentice you must be: 

• Aged 16 or over 

• Currently living in England 

What is involved in an Apprenticeship 

You will need to be employed for a minimum of 

30 hours per week and attend college one day 

per week.
