Overall Purpose

• Working as an integral part the Sales organisation, enable the achievement of the

Company’s sales objectives through cost effective and technologically sound

network design and development.

Job Responsibilities

• Working as an integral part of the Sales organisation, engage with customers in a

pro-active manner to establish customer’s requirements. Provide advice and

guidance to customers. Be responsive to requests for information on technical

and commercial (cost related) issues.

• Develop bespoke, integrated solutions to meet customer requirements, and

wherever possible promote the euNetworks brand proposition, network

capabilities and current products

• Define technical specification of any off-net requirements and solutions

• Present and demonstrate the technical integrity of the solution, and be

accountable for the cost effectiveness of the solution

• Where appropriate, develop innovative solutions that extend the sale, increase

revenue and/or reduce costs. Build the business case for any extended sale

• Work at the interface between Sales Engineering and the Service Activation

Engineering team to ensure effective handover

• Ensure that the Sales Engineering process contributes to and enhances customer

relationships and customer satisfaction. Where necessary, resolve issues on the

technical integrity and related matters of network solutions

• Monitor trends and developments in network technology to ensure own

professional expertise and technical capabilities. Absorb the organisational

learning from across the entire euNetworks sales engineering function


• Minimum requirement is for a Bachelors Degree in a scientific or technical


• 5+ year’s relevant experience in the telecommunications sector, including

experience in Sales Engineering/Pre Sales. Earlier experience may have been as

a Service Activation or Network Engineer or related support role.

• Strong technical knowledge in areas such as routers, switches, Ethernet, IP,

MPLS, VPLS, WDM, optical technology, dark fibre

• Strong applications skill set across network inventory applications, Microsoft

Office applications,, Google applications and OSS / project

management tools.

• Customer care skills

Sales behaviours, self presentation and professional sales engineering demeanor

• Strong personal track record of delivery on time and to specification

• Analytical and creative thinking skills, with development of pragmatic solutions to

customer requirements
