I founded Abercrombie & Kent in East Africa nearly 50 years ago with little
more than a 4x4, a couple of tents and an improvised ice-maker. Little did I
know at the time I was not only pioneering the concept of the mobile safari
but also creating a blueprint for a travel company that now takes people to
every corner of the world, not only in comfort, style and absolute safety, but
also ensuring they have an authentic experience of their destination – in a
way that suits their individual preferences.
The key to A&K’s success lies in our belief in leaving nothing to chance, our
ability to anticipate the individual needs of our clients and focusing on the
little details that can elevate a journey from being simply a great holiday to
an experience of a lifetime.
From the moment you first make an enquiry with us to when you arrive
back at home, our team of travel experts – both in the UK and on the
ground – will do everything in their power to exceed your expectations.
We look forward to being able to show you the A&K difference.
Geoffrey Kent: Founder, Chairman and CEO

With over 60 offices in 33 countries throughout the world, we have
more specialists in more places than any other travel company. The
A&K ‘family’ comprises local people on the ground in each country
who know who’s who and what’s what in their region – and who,
through their personal connections, are able to open doors that
would normally be closed to visitors. Among the diversity of colourful
personalities within our teams, attributes common to all are their
dedication to immaculate service and attention to detail – and a desire
to make your holiday the best experience it can possibly be.
They know how to circumnavigate bureaucratic obstacles and queues
to ensure your holiday is exactly that – a holiday. Whether meeting
you straight off the plane and guiding you into your air-conditioned
vehicle stocked with plenty of chilled water or arranging for museums
to be opened especially for you outside public opening hours, the A&K
team will ensure your journey is comfortable, safe and relaxing, with
seamless arrangements and service every step of the way.

A&K’s reputation and rigorous selection policy enable us to identify
and recruit the very best guides, who are entertaining, engaging, fluent
in English and knowledgeable on all aspects of their country or region.
Not only will they provide enthralling insights into their country’s
history, culture and wildlife, they will also look after you as though you
were a guest in their own home.

Every Abercrombie & Kent office plays a hands-on role in its
community, sponsoring projects that have both social and ecological
benefits for the region. Our focus is on initiatives that offer
opportunities for A&K clients to become personally involved and give
something back to the community they are visiting. Our travel experts
will provide more information on the individual projects supported
through A&K Philanthropy in any country, or visit
A voyage on the mighty
Yangzi allows you to cross many miles of
this vast country in comfort, watching
a vivid tableau unfolding on its banks,
revealing steeply hidden terraced hillsides,
local villages and dramatic gorges. The
pace of life along its banks remains
remarkably untouched, its old world
charm little changed with the relentless
march of technology. Sanctuary MS
Yangzi Explorer is a 5-star vessel that takes
you on a journey along this iconic river,
taking in the sights and sounds of the
region, while learning more about China’s
ancient civilisation with the help of guides
and experts on board. Tai Chi, Chinese
cookery, calligraphy and silk embroidery
classes are all available. A voyage on
the Yangzi can be three or four nights
depending on whether you travel up or
downstream and is usually integrated into
a longer journey through China.
The
breathtaking Three Gorges region
provides a spectacular backdrop for a
voyage of unsurpassed sheer physical
beauty. On-shore excursions will
highlight the scale and heritage of the
river, from feats of engineering such
as the Three Dams Project to scenic
wonders such as the Shennong Stream
and the culture and people of Wangzhou.
Board local longboats, poled by Tujia
boatmen, to explore inland creeks.
Observe the bustle of traditional village
life, farming and fishing techniques along
the river banks.
The Sanctuary
MS Yangzi Explorer complement is
limited to just 124 passengers allowing
her staterooms to set a new standard
in spaciousness and elegance. Evenings
feature live entertainment.
A team of
internationally trained chefs and a wellstocked
wine cellar ensure a superb dining
experience. Innovative menus feature
the finest of Chinese and continental
cuisine and are served with excellent
complimentary wines.
Peak season
is Spring (April and May) and Autumn
(September, October and November).

For centuries, the world’s most advanced
civilisation, China offers today’s traveller
a journey just as stimulating as that of
Marco Polo when he first encountered its
ancient secrets and culture.

Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer is one of only two 5-star vessels operating in
the spectacular Three Gorges region of China. Elegant and stylish, it
is perfect for relaxed cruising through spectacular and ever-changing
landscapes. A large sun deck offers outstanding photo opportunities and
is complemented by the Viewing Lounge and Cigar Bar, the ideal place
to soak up the atmosphere over a relaxed pre-dinner drink. On-board
facilities include a spa and fitness centre, a two-tiered theatre, coffee
lounge and a multi-language library.
Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer has 62 air-conditioned cabins, including 24
suites. All have balconies, panoramic windows and private bathrooms.
Each is equipped with a shower, hairdryer, satellite television with
in-house movies, a CD player, direct dial international telephone and
complimentary mini bar. Our favourites are the four stunning Speciality
Suites – the 732 square foot Jade and Mandarin Suites and 829 square
foot Celestial and Imperial Suites – which are beautifully furnished and
the largest available anywhere on the Yangzi River.
On arrival in Chongqing, board the Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer for an
absorbing four day/three night 660 km (402 mile) cruise. After time to
settle in to your deluxe cabin and a leisurely dinner, the ship will set sail
on its downstream course through the Three Gorges region, considered
to be one of the most scenic areas in China. There is also an upstream
voyage starting in Yichang lasting five days and four nights.
On shore excursions are a fascinating opportunity, in the company of
experienced and knowledgeable guides, to learn about the river’s history
and ecology. After a day’s exploration, return for sundowners in the
Viewing Lounge or on the sun deck. For a romantic and intimate meal,
we recommend the vessel’s exclusive private dining rooms for two,
where you will enjoy delicious à la carte food and a selection of French
and New World wines.

THAILAND
Myanmar is one
of the most physically diverse and
beautiful countries in the region, if not
the world. From its sublime landscapes,
rich history, serene peoples and deeply
Buddhist culture, it is a destination like
no other. Long quarantined from outside
influence, the country’s cultural heritage
and traditional lifestyles have remained
untouched. It offers a wealth of wonders
that are not beset by hordes of tourists,
most notably Bagan and the Ayeyarwady
River, Myanmar’s largest river, stretching
2,170 km. A supremely relaxing way to
appreciate the charms of Myanmar is to
travel along a stretch of the Ayeyarwady
in luxury on the RV Paukan or The Road
to Mandalay; a wonderful opportunity
to observe the unchanged lives of river
people and bankside villages, absorbing
the countless impressions that this giant
natural highway has to offer.
Explore
a new destination each day or simply
relax on board. In Mingun, see the
Mingun Bell, the Unfinished Pagoda and
Myatheindan Pagoda. Arise early to enjoy
sunrise over Sagaing Hill before visiting
Sagaing, once the capital, now a religious
centre supporting dozens of Buddhist
monasteries. The voyage culminates in
Bagan, a city that is the result of 2,500
years of frenzied religious building
resulting in over 4,400 temples, some in
ruins but many in good repair, stretched
over miles of windswept sand.
Both boats have
been especially adapted for cruising on
the Ayeryarwady in supreme comfort.
Paukan is traditional and intimate and
carries just 55 passengers. Its teak-walled
cabins and suites are furnished in colonial
and Myanmar style, most with balconies.
The Road to Mandalay is a larger vessel,
arranged over four decks, with 42 cabins
of varying sizes, decorated in a luxurious
and contemporary style.
Anytime from
November to March, although the very
best time to visit is late November and
early December when the rains have gone,
the landscape is lush and the skies are
crystal clear.

The lovely RV Paukan is a boutique hotel on the river, beautifully
furnished with a unique combination of modern and traditional motifs.
The timber-walled cabins are furnished with colonial style cupboards,
dresser and doors, while the ceiling is traditional Myanmar. The vessel
carries up to 55 passengers and a 30 strong crew.
For luxury living, the Paukan has suites, deluxe or superior cabins as
well as singles for guest or guides – we recommend the Deluxe Cabins
which come with a French balcony and sliding doors for spectacular
views of the river. There are two massage rooms on the lower deck
offering traditional Myanmar massage designed to give soothing
relaxation. The sun deck has a stage for cultural performances, and a
bar and lounge for relaxation and fun. The upper deck has a lecture/
movie room with LCD projector and LCD TV screen. The fine on-board
dining includes cuisine from both the East and West.

This elegant vessel, air-conditioned throughout, has four decks – Deluxe,
State, Main and Observation, 18 State Cabins, 16 Deluxe Cabins, 4
Superior Cabins as well as 4 Singles. With the emphasis on comfort and
luxury, the spacious en suite cabins are furnished with the most beautiful
fabrics, finest linens and softest towels.
The Observation Deck, with its shady canopies and relaxing cane
furniture, makes a superb balcony for viewing the theatre of the busy
river and the magical sunsets, complemented by the pool and deck bar.
On the Main Deck there is a spacious Observation Lounge, the Kipling
piano-bar with its wonderful Myanmar lacquerwork and local wood,
and the restaurant offering seven different themes: Burmese, Shan, Thai,
Indonesian, Chinese, Indian and European.

A Pandaw cruise allows you to explore many magnificent and off the
beaten places in these fascinating countries in absolute comfort – fine
dining, cocktails, select wines and superb levels of service – with no need
to check in and out of hotels and endure bumpy roads. The RV Pandaws
were designed and finished as replicas of a colonial river steamer and
are between 180 ft and 200 ft long, with a crew of 28 under European
management. The large staterooms are finished in teak and brass and
there are 30 air-conditioned teakwood-accented cabins, decorated with
local hand-spun fabrics, furnished with local rattan, all with private
facilities including a shower room. The Middle and Upper deck cabins
open to promenades. There is a spacious dining room on the Main deck
and the large sun deck is half covered by an awning for shade. Whilst the
staterooms are comfortable and roomy, you may prefer to sit outside on
the promenade decks or on the vast observation deck above.

A quarter of a mile in length, the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury
train recaptures the golden age of rail travel through one of the
world’s most beautiful and exotic regions. Three grades of beautifully
appointed compartments are offered: Superior Cabins, State Cabins
and Presidential Suites. The interior walls are cherry wood and elm burr
panelled, adorned with decorative marquetry and intricate inlays. Each
cabin is fully air-conditioned with an en suite shower, washbasin and WC
and features large picture windows for an excellent view of the passing
scenery. The Observation Car’s interior section is the perfect place to
enjoy cocktails amidst a colonial ‘veranda’ ambience. Relax to the sounds
of the resident pianist before enjoying a sumptuous meal. One-third of
the Observation Car offers unobstructed views, the perfect place to take
photographs of the panoramic scenery and experience the sights, sounds
and scents of South East Asia.

India’s incredible riches – its iconic temples, diverse
culture, spectacular scenery and exotic wildlife – make it
one of the most compelling destinations on the planet.

Witness the
enchanting rural landscapes and bustling
towns and cities. Absorb life on the banks
of the Ganges or cross the desert in
Rajasthan. Feel the surge of adrenalin when
you spot a tiger in Ranthambore, observe
the spiritual drama of a funeral at Varanisi,
explore the fairytale forts and palaces of
Northern India, not least the shimmering
Taj Mahal. Observe local fishermen’s
ingenious way of catching fish in the south.
The challenge presented
by this vast subcontinent is fitting in
everything you want to see in a limited
period of time – perhaps this is why many
people return to India time and again.
However, a majestic train journey covers
a great many miles in the most efficient
way, travelling in luxury through stunning
landscapes absorbing authentic Indian life
en route and stopping for excursions to
take in the landmarks, sights and sounds
of India – while enjoying a flavour of a
bygone era. Alternatively, a 12 night cruise
on the RV Bengal Pandaw, covering 800
miles on the River Ganges from Kolkata
to the holy city of Varanasi, is a wonderful
way to experience North West India.
For a shorter cruise experience, we offer
a leisurely two day cruise through the
backwaters of Kerala in Southern India.
Sumptuous suites
and cabins await the Maharajas’ Express.
Kerala houseboats have one or two
bedroomed ensuite cabins. Bengal Pandaw
offers comfortable accommodation.
Executive chefs on
board the Maharajas’ Express combine
the best of Asian fusion delicacies, with
European options available. Aboard a
houseboat and Bengal Pandaw, enjoy
a fusion of local fruit, vegetables, rice,
fish and chicken cooked with distinctive
flavours of pepper, cardamom, chillies,
turmeric and cloves.
From October
to March the weather is refreshingly cool
with minimal rainfall – although water
levels in the Ganges can be low at this time
(and itineraries may vary as a result).

Following their successful voyages throughout South East Asia, Pandaw
Cruises now operate on India’s greatest river, the Ganges. A replica of a
colonial steamer, RV Bengal Pandaw offers a relaxed and informal way
of seeing some of India’s most fascinating cities.
Wherever possible, the chefs use locally sourced produce to create a
choice of Indian and vegetarian menus. Complimentary tea, coffee and
mineral water are available at all times and local beers and spirits are
available during dinner. The staff to guest ratio is high, ensuring an
excellent level of service. A journey on Bengal Pandaw is a very special
experience as it cruises along India’s most holy of rivers. Passengers are
invited to join escorted shore excursions or explore under their own
steam if they prefer – or simply stay on board to enjoy the ever-changing
views of life on the banks of this sacred river. For travellers seeking their
own adventure, or for those who prefer to share their experience and
expand their knowledge of this remote region of India, Bengal Pandaw
and its staff will provide the perfect platform.

Kerala houseboats are available with or without air-conditioning,
although we recommend the former. The large bedrooms are equipped
with comfortable twin beds complete with mosquito nets. Once on
board, absorb the intoxicating charm of Kerala’s backwaters from the
deck as you gently flow past traditional villages, lush paddy fields and
swaying coconut palms. The houseboat is staffed with a crew of three:
captain, engineer and cook. Having a cook on board allows you to
wake up to a sumptuous sadya breakfast served on plantain leafs. In the
evening, enjoy a local Kerala dish such as fish molee.

Australia offers a
wealth of natural wonders and iconic
contemporary structures. The greatest
challenge is the sheer distance involved in
travelling between them. Rail is a perfect
solution; the miles between destinations
are quickly devoured. We offer two epic
journeys: The Ghan covers 1,900 miles
between Darwin and Adelaide, whereas
The Indian Pacific moves between Perth
and Sydney. By contrast, to explore the
dramatic wilderness of the Kimberley
region, its rugged mountains, magnificent
gorges and majestic waterfalls, the True
North adventure yacht, complete with
its own helicopter, is an experience of a
lifetime in itself.
Witness
the spectacular landscapes of Australia’s
Northern Territory to South Australia’s
sweeping Adelaide Plains and the
majestic Flinders Ranges, the evocative
Blue Mountains and the treeless plains
of the Nullarbor desert. Catch glimpses
of Australia’s unique wildlife as
kangaroos bound alongside. Dolphins,
giant turtles and saltwater crocodiles are
abundant in the tropical waters of North
Western Australia.
The cabins on
True North are luxuriously appointed
with en suite bathrooms, TV and satellite
phones. Cabins on the trains convert
from three seater lounge seats to twin
berths and have en suite facilities.
Signature meals
aboard True North include freshly caught
barramundi. The menus aboard The Ghan
and Indian Pacific trains will often feature
native Australian cuisine. Excellent wines
and beverages are available.
All year round.

True North allows adventurers to appreciate the wilderness in
surroundings akin to one of the world’s most exclusive hotels. You are
able to take advantage of a number of lavish vantage points including a
sundeck, a forward observation lounge, a ship’s lounge and an alfresco
bar. The lower deck dining room offers the ultimate in comfort and
uninterrupted vistas – large panoramic windows ensure that you
never miss any of the action, even when you are enjoying the
exceptional cuisine.
The vast, exciting Kimberley region is one of the world’s last great
wildernesses. Situated in the remote far north of Western Australia,
it is like nowhere else on earth: wildly beautiful landscapes of rugged
mountain ranges, spectacular river gorges and majestic waterfalls.
A typical day might involve exploring an unknown estuary, trying
to land the evening meal, swimming in rock pools beneath towering
cascades or viewing ancient Aboriginal cave paintings. The region is
steeped in curious stories of legendary human endeavour of shipwreck,
survival and tragedy. Experience the power of the largest tidal range in
the world. Like everything in the Kimberley the contrasts are extreme.
Multiple expedition boats allow you to explore one of the most scenic
and remote areas of Australia and to add yet another dimension to
adventure, the True North is the only Kimberley adventure cruise ship
that sails with its own helicopter. The purpose-built True North is able
to explore the upper reaches of shallow river systems – so you need
only step out of your cabin to experience the wilderness, while the latest
computer-controlled motion stabilizers ensure a comfortable ride.

Chile’s Lake District stretches from
the Pacific to the Andes, famous for its
deep blue mountain lakes, snow-capped
volcanoes and larch forests. Lakes perforate
a landscape interspersed with abundant
rivers, waterfalls, forests and thermal
hot springs. Gliding through unspoiled
natural habitats, observing the abundant
wildlife and accessing remote fjords,
islands and some of the world’s greatest
fishing spots where few have been before is
a true privilege; this is exactly what awaits
guests on board MV Atmosphere, in the
company of highly trained expert guides.
Or, for those wishing to head to Argentina
from Chile (or vice versa), a voyage on
an Australis vessel takes you from Punta
Arenas to Ushuaia, passing through the
Straits of Magellan, the Beagle Channel
and around Cape Horn.
Join
the Atmosphere marine biologists in a
whale-watching programme where you
will be on the lookout for sperm whale,
killer whale and the blue whale, and
Peale’s Chilean, Dusky and Commerson’s
dolphin. Discover the astonishing natural
beauty of Patagonia with a host of
outdoor activities: trek along the coast,
through forests on remote islands and
pass hot springs; experience the thrill
of a jetboat expedition; raft on remote
mountain rivers and kayak through the
fjords; ride horses through untamed
terrain or go heli-fishing in lakes seldom
visited. On board the Australis vessels, stop
to admire impressive glaciers, penguin and
elephant seal colonies.
Atmosphere has
just 14 luxurious and highly specified
ensuite cabins with panoramic windows.
Australis vessels vary in size and have 64 or
104 ensuite cabins.
Australis
operates two expeditions: ‘Tasting Chile’
in November, December and April and
‘Ultimate Fly-Fishing and Wildlife’
from December to March (apart from
Christmas and New Year which is
charter only). Australis operates from
September to April.

MV Atmosphere has been designed with exploring uncharted Patagonia
in mind, by land, air and water. A small expedition ship, its complement
is limited to just 28 passengers, manned by a crew of 32. It carries
a six passenger Bell 407 helicopter to airlift explorers to otherwise
unreachable rivers and lakes, six jet-boats to attack the most remote
rivers and a Zodiac Hurrican to scour the coastline in all its rugged glory.
Waiting ashore in secret spots are inflatable zodiacs and Mackenzie drift
boats to complete this all-encompassing transport system.
The two types of week-long expedition focus on ecotourism and fly
fishing respectively, aiming to take guests to breathtaking places that
are inaccessible to most travellers. Magnificent, virtually untouched
fishing spots, whale watching (best in February and March) and wildlife
excursions, nature photography and a raft of outdoor activities such as
jet-boating, kayaking, riding and trekking await in this most pristine
and untouched part of the world.
On board Atmosphere, a sauna and open air jacuzzi on the top deck
await guests after a long day. The spacious lounge, dining and bar area
on the boat deck is equipped with books, DVDs and music. Gournet
dining on board is accompanied by an excellent selection of sommelierselected
wines.

It is a four night journey on an Australis vessel from Punta Arenas to
Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, the uttermost end of the earth. Equipped
with zodiac vessels, during the trip there will be many opportunities to
disembark the ship to explore glaciers, beaches and forests to appreciate
the formation, flora and fauna, accompanied by your guides. The same
journey in reverse involves three nights on board.

The Galapagos Islands
are an archipelago, National Park and
Marine Reserve a thousand kilometres
off the coast of Ecuador. Darwin’s living
laboratory is a world apart, exceptional
for its fearless and truly unparalleled
wildlife and its barren, volcanic and
markedly beautiful landscape. The best
way to enjoy these remarkable islands is
a cruise on board the finest expedition
ships in the islands – MV Eclipse and La
Pinta. The ships anchor off-shore each
day from where, in small groups, you are
ferried to land in motorised dinghies.
Here, our naturalist guides will provide
expert insights into the flora and fauna
that greets you. The Galapagos Islands are
a two hour flight from Quito.
With many
opportunities to hike, kayak and take
stunning close-up photographs of the
MV Eclipse
accommodates up to 48 passengers in
large Staterooms. All have sea views,
well-appointed bathrooms and amenities
usually associated with hotels. The
Eclipse’s spacious areas combine perfectly
with its upscale interiors and peronalised
service. La Pinta accommodates up to 48
guests in 24 ample Staterooms, all with
large windows providing breathtaking
views of the ever-changing scenery.
International, with
a choice of excellent wines and plenty of
options for vegetarians and children.
The Galapagos
Islands are a year round destination;
during the warm season, from November
to May, days are sunny and the sea is very
calm. The cooler, dry season, from June
to October, is the breeding season when
there may be more animal activity.

Owner operated and managed, MV Eclipse represents one of the finest
expedition ships in the islands. She allows the more discerning traveller
to experience one of the world’s greatest natural treasures in the comfort
of a vessel that offers generous accommodation, ample deck space and
alfresco dining, whilst preserving the atmosphere and exclusivity of
a smaller yacht. She also has an observation deck, library, jacuzzi and
snorkelling equipment and wet suits available.
From your comfortable base aboard the Eclipse, you will be able to
explore the best sites in the islands. There are many opportunities
to hike, swim, snorkel, kayak, bird-watch and take great close-up
photographs of the flora and fauna. Eclipse anchors off-shore at two sites
per day. Passengers are divided into groups of a maximum of 12 people,
each with its own naturalist guide. All guides are certified naturalists.
Eclipse was successfully certified within the Rainforest Alliance ‘Smart
Voyager’ programme in November 2007 and is dedicated to protecting
the fragile ecosystems of the Galapagos Islands. Additionally a portion
of the sale of every voyage is annually donated to a variety of worthy
causes in Galapagos and more than 60% of its employees are permanent
or temporary residents of Galapagos.

Eclipse has developed selected Family Departures. Professional guides
(certified by the Galapagos National Park and specialised in guiding
children) entertain the children all day long. Activities include faster
guided walks, which are just as educational, and beach games with
seperate children’s briefings and ‘Kids’ Menus’ available at mealtimes.
This leaves you to enjoy the cruise at your own pace, in the knowledge
that your children are in safe hands and making their own discoveries
about the history of evolution and the wonders of the islands.

MV AQUA
HIRAM BINGHAM
Stretching some 4,000
miles from the Andes in Peru across
northern Brazil, the Amazon is sometimes
called The River Sea – in places 120 miles
wide. The 5-star MV Aqua departs from
Iquitos, gliding along the Peruvian section,
docking at points to enable exploration of
remote estuaries by river launch with your
naturalist guide. The pristine rainforest
teems with wildlife – Amazonia is home
to two thirds of all species in the world
– and you may encounter local people
in primitive villages. By contrast, the
sophistication of Machu Picchu, the Inca
city built in the mid-15th century and
rediscovered in 1911, is spellbinding; its
ashlar ruins lie shrouded in swirling mist
which slowly rises to reveal the dramatic
setting. The Hiram Bingham Orient
Express train takes you to this ancient
citadel where a late morning arrival allows
plenty of time to explore.
The MV Aqua
features 12 large suites offering a generous
230 square feet of space with large picture
windows, air-conditioning and en suite
sitting areas. The ‘Hiram Bingham Orient
Express’ consists of two dining cars, an
observation bar car and a kitchen car,
carrying up to 84 passengers.
The Aqua chef
specialises in Peruvian fusion served with
regional wine, an opportunity to become
acquainted with the best South American
vintages. On board the Hiram Bingham,
indulge in a three-course brunch on the
ascent to Machu Picchu and four-course
dinner with pisco sours on the way down.
In high water
season (December to May), the estuaries
grow, allowing boats to venture deeper
into the flooded forest; in low water (June
to November, the receding river reveals
beautiful beaches. Avoid Machu Picchu in
the wet season (January to February).

A fascinating land of natural wonders,
ancient civilisations and folklore,
interwoven by the Amazon, the world’s
mightiest river, and its tributaries.

The Hiram Bingham train is the most luxurious way to journey
between Cusco and Machu Picchu. For many visitors a trip to Machu
Picchu is a once in a lifetime experience. The Hiram Bingham assures a
magical journey never to be forgotten.
The carriages are painted a distinctive blue and gold while interiors are
luxurious, warm and inviting with elegant decoration in the style of the
1920’s Pullman trains. As passengers step on board they are encompassed
in a world of polished wood, gleaming cutlery and glittering glass.
The round trip between Machu Picchu and Cusco aboard the Hiram
care of. Upon reaching your destination a guide will show you the
highlights of the Machu Picchu citadel and bring Inca culture to life.
A talented and experienced team of naturalists, Amazon River guides
Amazon’s wildlife, plants and birdlife and the history of this part of
Peru makes the difference between a visit to Peru and an unforgettable
experience on Peru’s Amazon River.
The Aqua accommodates a maximum of 24 guests plus crew. This
luxury vessel is the perfect size to sail along the Amazon, providing
extremely comfortable lounge, dining and sleeping accommodation.
You will enjoy an array of fresh Peruvian fare, whether served on board
or on mid-adventure. Dinner is a culinary feast accompanied by select
wines, with menus created by one of Peru’s star chefs. The ship’s 12
oversized suites all feature en suite sitting areas. Four suites can be
interconnected to cater for families. In between Amazon adventures,
enjoy pre- or post-dinner cocktails in the air-conditioned indoor bar or
head up to the Observation Deck to indulge in some sunbathing, a good
book or simply watching the river go by.

The waters of the
Chobe divide Namibia’s Caprivi Strip
from Botswana’s Chobe Game Reserve,
28,500 square km of lush African bush
located to the north of the Okavanga
Delta encompassing a variety of habitat,
marshes, waterways, riverine forests, dry
woodlands and the world-famous Savute
Channel. The area teems with wildlife
and is home to the largest population
of elephants in the world. Namibia’s
Caprivi area is a game-rich lush wetland,
a birder’s paradise with more than 450
species. The Zambezi Queen, a luxurious
5-star safari vessel comprising just 14
private suites and complete with deck
pool, cruises through the Chobe’s waters.
It is a romantic means of navigating
this untamed area, whether observing
animals gathering at the water’s edge
at dawn and dusk, attempting to land
a tiger fish or simply savouring a
sundowner on the deck.
Huge herds
of elephant – up to 500 in size – prides
of lion, huge groups of buffalo, leopard,
waterbuck, roan, eland, sable and giraffe
can all be observed on the banks of the
river. In the river itself watch out for hippo
and crocodile, keeping your binoculars at
the ready for the rich variety of bird life.
Cruising quietly along the river creates a
wonderful sense of anticipation as to what
you might spot next.
All suites have
private balconies and full length sliding
shutters for both privacy and protection
from the sun, sliding mosquito net doors,
while the finest finishes complete this
cocoon of creature comforts amidst the
wilds of untamed Africa.
Aboard the
Zambezi Queen, meals are prepared by
skilled chefs; fine South African wines
are expertly selected to complement the
gourmet menus and complimentary
drinks are provided with all activities
whether land or boat based.
There can be few natural wonders as synonymous
River, its banks boasting one of the densest
populations of wildlife on the African continent.

The first and second levels of the boat incorporate 14 cabins tastefully
furnished with either a double or two single beds. Of the 14 suites, six are
master suites. Clever use of shutters situated on the outer edge of the deck and
ceiling fans ensure a cool experience. Uniquely, the entire boat, including the
top deck, living and dining area, has mosquito screening.
The top deck consists of the dining room, the lounge including a wood
burning fireplace, a bar and a sunbathing area complete with private pool. Also
