Why Use Certified Hay:
Please note the required information you must have available.
Certified hay helps prevent the introduction and spread of noxious weeds, therefore
protecting natural resources including wildlife habitat. In addition, certain
provinces, states, and federal agencies (i.e. US Forest Service) have areas where the
use of certified hay is required.
Wyoming certifies hay using the North American Weed Free Forage (NAWFF)
standards. This standard is recognized and approved in 13 other western states
including those neighboring Wyoming.
Growers should contact their local Weed and Pest District for more information
on the certification program. (Contact information on back)
Benefits of Using the UW Hay List:
The Hay List website is a FREE service for both the sellers and the buyers of certified
or non-certified hay.
Sellers: Provides a mechanism for sellers of certified hay to advertise their product
availability to a broad spectrum consumer base, including local, regional and national
buyers.
If you have specific hay, pasture or seed available. Please describe.
Buyers: Provides a centralized means of finding certified hay in Wyoming, simplifying
the search process and potentially eliminating unnecessary travel and costs.
How It Works:
Sellers: visit the UW Hay List website
www.wyoming.extension.org/haylist/default.asp
and enter data concerning the hay you would like to sell by using the online listing
form. Sellers will need the NAFCS No. from the Wyoming Certificate of Inspection
form (WDA-69.02) provided by the field inspector.
Buyers: visit the same website and view certified hay available by region or state.
Buyers can then obtain contact information for sellers (or list their own request to
purchase hay) who have certified (or noncertified) hay available.
If you want to list yourself as a buyer and trying to find hay.
the responsibility of the sellers and buyers.
Sponsoring organizations will not arbitrate buyer/seller disputes.
