CHEM 4414 Introductory Physical Chemistry<br />
Prerequisites: CHEM 2423, PHYS 2413, 2423<br />
A survey of the fundamental principles which govern chemical phenomena. Emphasis is placed on gases, basic<br />
thermodynamics, solutions, chemical equilibria, phase equilibria, chemical kinetics and electrochemical phenomena. A<br />
working knowledge of basic calculus is necessary. This course includes one semester hour credit for laboratory<br />
sessions.<br />
CHRISTIANITY<br />
CHRI 1313 Old Testament<br />
Prerequisite for all Christianity courses except 1323.<br />
A course designed to introduce the student to the Old Testament and to provide an understanding of the history,<br />
institutions, and theological insights of the Hebrew people. Required for graduation.<br />
CHRI 1323 New Testament<br />
Prerequisite for all Christianity courses except 1313.<br />
A course designed to introduce the student to the New Testament and to an appreciative understanding of the life and<br />
teachings of Jesus, the early Christian movement, and the doctrinal concepts and ethical ideals of Christianity. Required<br />
for graduation.<br />
CHRI 2333 Christian Doctrine<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313, 1323.<br />
A course designed to acquaint the student with the great doctrines of the Christian religion. Attention is given to such<br />
doctrines as Revelation, Man, God, Sin, Salvation, the Church, and the Christian Life.<br />
CHRI 2343 Christianity and Ethics<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313, 1323.<br />
A course which introduces the moral teachings of the Christian faith and the application of those moral teachings to<br />
selected ethical issues.<br />
CHRI 2353 Christianity and the World Religions<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313 and 1323.<br />
This course presents a comparative study of the teachings of the Christian faith and the major world religions.<br />
CHRI 2363 Christianity and the Western Philosophical Tradition<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313, 1323.<br />
A course which introduces students to the major philosophical schools and their relationship to and influence upon<br />
Christianity.<br />
CHRI 3301 Old Testament Theology<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313, 1323.<br />
A course designed to investigate the theology of the Old Testament and to survey selected secondary literature on Old<br />
Testament themes.<br />
CHRI 3302 New Testament Theology<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313, 1323.<br />
A course designed to investigate the theology of the New Testament and to survey selected secondary literature on New<br />
Testament themes.<br />
CHRI 3303 Spiritual Formation<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313, 1323.<br />
A study of the perspectives and practices by which Christians become formed in the image of Christ through<br />
participation in faith communities. The course will review historic approaches to spiritual formation and encourage<br />
personal and congregational disciplines that strengthen faithful living.<br />
CHRI 3310 Introduction to Judaism<br />
Prerequisites: CHRI 1313, 1323.<br />
An introduction to the faith and practice of Judaism in the United States.<br />
