WHAT WE DO... Our job in the Registration Service is to make sure that all the births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships that take place in Barnsley are recorded. We complete the legal preliminaries prior to a marriage or a civil partnership and conduct civil ceremonies at the register office at the town hall and at venues throughout the borough. We issue copy certificates for family history and legal purposes. We conduct citizenship ceremonies for those who become British citizens. We arrange and conduct non legal ceremonies for families such as naming ceremonies and renewal of vows ceremonies. 1 O U R C O M M I T M E N T T O Y O U
