YOUTH DANCE CLASSES
• Parents are asked to wait outside the classroom during class.
• Dance wear may be purchased at www.creativemovementanddance.com.
• Hair should be pulled away from the face. See the dress code under each class. Please label all dance attire.
MOTHER GOOSE
Creative Movement & Dance Inc. instructors teach this class and will encourage your child to have fun as they clap, sing
and move to music. They use scarves and hula hoops to appreciate lightness and roundness, balls and bean bags to
learn balance and coordination. Through their games and improvisation, the children develop self-awareness and come
to appreciate their expressive potential. The class is designed to improve body awareness and foster self-confidence,
emphasize motor skill development, coordination, flexibility and muscle tone. This is the perfect prep class for children
before beginning ballet, tap, or jazz dance. Parent participation is optional.

PRE-BALLET
Creative Movement & Dance, Inc. instructors teach this class. It is a structured program designed for the early
development of technical ballet and movement. It precisely meets the needs and limitations of pre-school aged children
by providing a carefully paced sequence of exercises to develop physical conditioning with poise and grace. Since
children naturally respond to music and movement, the activities are presented through music. In the program, children
learn self-discipline, listening skills, coordination skills, left and right discrimination, patterns in movement, and preballet.
Dress Code - a pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

TAP-BALLET
Creative Movement & Dance, Inc. instructors teach this perfect combination class. The class is divided with 20 minutes
of tap and 25 minutes of ballet. Since ballet is the basis for all dance technique, the combination of Tap and Ballet work
hand in hand. The technical training is taught through ballet, which in turn helps teach the proper shifting of weight
and patterns in movement for tap. Since children naturally respond to music and movement, all of the activities are
executed to fun music. Dress Code - a pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and black tap shoes.

TAP-BALLET II
Creative Movement & Dance, Inc. instructors will continue instructing technique and movement through the principles of
Tap and Ballet. Must have taken Tap-Ballet I. Dress Code - Girls will need a pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers
and black top shoes.
