Director’s Note

Winter is a great time to "add some color to your

life" by participating in events at The Art Center. This

winter we are offering an exciting mix of classes, exhibits

and special events.

Our winter class schedule includes a wide variety

of classes for all ages, skill levels and areas of interest.

Whether your interest is drawing, pastel painting,

mixed media, woodcarving, oil or acrylic painting,

watermedia, pottery, sculpture, glass blowing or photography, we have

a class to meet your needs.

To help you choose the right class, we are offering a series of FREE

one time demonstration classes during the week of December 10th to

18th. Check page 3 for details and sign up for those that interest you.

For information on any of our classes, please call The Art Center. Both

Kathy and I can help you match your interests and skills with the right

class and instructor.

This winter we will feature four different exhibits in our gallery. We

begin December 8, 2012 through January 4, 2013 with a show featuring

20 members of the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters (SVPAP).

As their name implies, this group specializes in painting scenes from

around our area and beyond. This is the group's second exhibit at The

Art Center. Last year's event drew rave reviews. Please join us for the

opening reception Saturday, December 8th from 1 to 3 pm.

Our second exhibit runs January 12 to 31. Donna Mitchell and

Friends return for their second featured show at The Art Center. Donna

instructs Pastel Painting at The Art Center and this show features not

only her award winning talent, but also that of her many students. Join

Donna and her students at the opening reception Saturday, January

12th from 2 to 4 pm.

Our third exhibit will be February 8 to March 13. Photo Op is the

title of the exhibition open to all photographers. See page 7 for entry

details. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, February 8th

from 6 to 8 pm.
