Dosing and blending units
With the volumetric dosing and blending
unit SPECTROCOLOR V and MB
COLOR, Motan offers a simple solution
for the economic production of plastics
parts: precise dosing and homogeneous
mixing with highest repeatability.
Either as a central mixing station or
mounted on the processing machine,
they dose and mix up to six materials in
granular form. They operate according
to the Motan gravity mixing principle.
The dosing stations are simultaneously
controlled by microprocessor controls.
The inclined dosing screws provide a
continuous and accurate material feed.
Either as a central mixing station or mounted on the
processing machine, the SPECTROCOLOR V doses and
mixes up to six materials in granular form.
Level sensors monitor the material level and, as material
is required, dosing units start simultaneously to deliver
the required amounts.
Cleaning can be carried out easily and without tools. The
SPECTROCOLOR V has a gravity mixing hopper.
The central mixing neck, on to which up to three dosing
units can be mounted, replaces the machine hopper. The
material flow of the main component is split into smaller
streams by a spreader. The additives are dosed into the void
in the centre of the spreader. The materials flow together
directly above the feed throat. This ensures homogeneous
The modular construction of the units with removable
hoppers allows quick change-over to other materials (no
tools required). Depending on the application, different
dosing elements and hopper sizes are available.
Dosing and storage bin
The inclined dosing units avoid material trickling through due
to movement of the processing machine. For cleaning, the
dosing screw is simply removed. The dosing drive can be
fixed while changing the screws and bins. This simplifies
handling for the user. The dosing screws are supported on
one end. Thus, material jams at the screw discharge are
avoided. The quick-change system for dosing screws
ensures that the dosing unit suits different throughputs and

SPECTROCOLOR V and MB COLOR can be centrally
controlled via the LINKnet information and control system.
